Quick Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2010
I like the ease of this recipe, and didn't mind so much that they look more like biscuits than rolls. But I don't think they had a lot of flavor. More salt would be a starter. I actually salted one cooked roll after buttering it, and that alone made it better.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
This recipe is delicious as is, and I've made it a few times as is. This weekend, I made it for a cookout with a few additions (2 more good shakes of cinnamon, 3 good shakes each of cloves and ginger; tossed the apples in the dry mixture to coat; only 2 T water) and people were LITERALLY eating it right out of the bowl...what a compliment! Thanks for sharing!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
I've been making this for close to a year now. Every now and then I would attempt to try another recipe. There's no use! This one is delicious, and is now "my" cornbread recipe...thanks for sharing!

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
I thought this was just okay, my husband even less so. The amount of cumin I think was too much-DH actually wondered if I'd put peanut butter in it!

Surimi, Spinach, and Roasted Red Pepper Quiche

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
Delish, pretty, and so easy! I used real crab meat and fresh spinach, since that was what I had on hand, but otherwise followed the recipe. The only thing I would change next time is to skip the salt-the final dish was just a bit salty for my taste.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
Very good! The white chocolate and cream in the filling makes this cheesecake less dense than regular cheesecakes. I used chocolate graham crackers (a. it's what I already had, b. I couldn't find regular chocolate cookies and c. I didn't feel like messing with taking the filling out of oreos). I didn't add sugar to the crust. I used Polaner All Fruit seedless raspberry, and didn't add sugar to that either. Mr. D said it was the best dessert that's ever come out of my kitchen, and rivaled the Cheesecake Factory! Woohoo!

Rosenmunnar

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Delicious little cookies, and easy enough to make on a whim, as I did! I added about a teaspoon of almond extract, and maybe another tablespoon of butter (accident-don't ask!) which may have helped avoid crumbly dough. I used peach preserves and blackberry jam. The peach preserves didn't have a lot of flavor, so you get more of the cookie-ness which was fine by me! I also used a 1/4 tsp. measuring spoon to make the thumbprints and used that same spoon to measure out 1/4 t. or slightly less of jam and used a bamboo skewer to scrape the jam into the cookies, which worked well. I got about 48 cookies out of the recipe, and cooked them for 10 minutes.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Let me preface this by saying that I don't eat sausage gravy. But I've been trying to find a good recipe for my husband. While, according to DH, it was "okay" he agreed that there was entirely too much sausage. Better luck next time...

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Absolutely wonderful! My husband woke up Saturday morning and announced "I want sausage and pepper rustica with a vodka sauce." This sauce perfected his request. I stuck to the recipe, save for adding basil and oregano. We had plenty of leftovers, and this sauce is perfect for that too-hot or cold! Thank you!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
So good, and SO EASY!! I didn't have celery salt, so I didn't use it, and instead used garlic powder and dill (because we use dill on practically every fresh fish we make). Also used low fat mayo. An added bonus? Dinner for 2 cost less than $6 (because I had to buy the fish and a lemon and everything else was on hand). Thanks!

Rosemary Roasted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2008
This is excellent! I wanted to actually cook this the same night, so rather than marinating the pork, I used a smaller tenderloin but made the normal amount of marinade. I also used 1 cup of apple juice rather than concentrate. I poured all of the sauce onto the tenderloin, then baked it covered...it took about an hour longer, but was juicy and flavorful. Thank you!
