Pork Chop and Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2014
I started to make this soup when I realized there are no liquids listed in the recipe. How can this be a soup without a broth of some kind. If it is just missing from the recipe could you add it so I can make it soon because the ingredients look delicious. Thanks Andrea

Carrot, Potato, and Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2014
I followed this recipe as written except for the blending. At first I only blended it a little and felt the flavor was a little bland. I also didn't care for the texture, so I blended it till it was smooth and that's when all the flavors came together to make a wonderful soup. The extra step makes all the differences so don't skip it. This is going in my keeper file. Thanks Andrea

Pork Steaks

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2014
We loved this recipe. I made it with no changes and the meat was tender, juicy and with the perfect balance of flavors. My only complaint was that there is no information about the temperature to cook the pork at. I didn't want the pan to hot because that would burn the onion and garlic but I needed it hot enough to brown the pork. I decided the best way was to cook it all at once on med. to med. high, it all came out perfect. I served it with rice and sliced tomato. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks....Andrea

Buffalo Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
I followed the recipe and really enjoyed this soup a lot. The only thing I found to complain about was the serving sizes. Recipe said makes four, but if you want a whole bowl it only made about two and a halve to three servings. I'm thinking I might add broccoli or cauliflower to it next time and see how that taste. This recipe is going in my keeper file. Thanks for a fast and easy recipe. Andrea

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
This soup is great! Even my sister who hates soup loved it after I talked her into tasting it. I had to make a second batch after my nephews stopped by and smelled it, they ate it all! This soup is a hit just the way it is, wouldn't change a thing. Thanks for one heck of a recipe.

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
First I followed the recipe then taste tested it. Found it good but a little flat and not much beef flavor. Easy fixes. First I added a bouillon cube, then added a splash of worstershire and soy sauces. It gave it the body that I needed. I found this soup to be a tasty and easy not to mention inexpensive. Thanks for a great starter recipe. Andrea

Bottom Round Roast with Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2014
I followed the recipe exactly and my roast turned out perfect. The onion gravy was spot on and the roast tender and juicy.Everybody loved it. I had to hide the leftovers in the back of the fridge so I can make a hot roast beef sandwich with the little bit that was leftover from dinner last night. My family wants to know when we can have it again. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe.-Andrea

Creamy Chorizo and Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2014
I followed the recipe. It had a great flavor and a beautiful color. I can even add to it to dress it up for company. My sister who does not like soup tried it and liked it. The only thing I would change is the sour cream. I found that it muffled the other flavors. Tip for those who find it to spicy, put a little honey in it. You can mix it right in the bowl then put the cheese on. Thanks for a recipe that I will make over and over.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2013
This roasted chicken was yummy.I followed the recipe except for adding garlic powder to the onion powder, salt and pepper. I also smashed some garlic and added it to the celery in the cavity. Although it took a lot longer to cook then the recipe stated it was well worth it. The flavors went clear to the bone and it was so moist and tender. I can hardly wait to eat the leftovers. In fact, I think I'll go raid the fridge. Thank you for your recipe. Andrea

Hearty Fish Chowder

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2013
I made this soup for lunch today and to be honest all I could taste was tomato sauce and fish. Having said that, I also think It's a great base to build with and make your own.

Cheesy Vegetable Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2013
I enjoyed this soup very much. It was easy to make. I didn't have any half n half so I used heavy whipping cream with a little added water so it wouldn't be to thick. I also had to use a chicken soup base powder as I was out of the chicken bouillon. The soup taste a lot like a chicken pot pie so after I had a bowl for lunch, I added peas and leftover chicken. It's like comfort in a bowl, I can hardly wait to have more. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us. Andrea

Minestrone Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2013
I found this soup fast and flavorful. I had a bowl this morning and It hit the spot. I'm a diabetic and find soup is a good way to control my salt, fat and carbs. The only thing I changed was to trade the pasta for kidney beans and used V8 juice instead of tomato juice. Otherwise I stayed with the recipe. For lunch I am going to add a dollup of sour cream. yum! this ones a keeper. Tomorrow I think I will add some string beans. Thanks Shelly

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
This was a pretty good tasting mushroom soup. My only complaints were that the broth was very thin and the mushrooms for some reason wanted to stay on the bottom. I would also like to know how some cooks were able to get that wonderful yellow color to their broth. Andrea

Sausage Broccoli Chowder

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
My nephew and I liked this soup very much. In fact the first time I made it I only had one bowl of it before he devoured the rest of it and wanted to know if we could make more. Now I just double the recipe. We sometimes change the kind of sausage. It just depends on what we have on hand, otherwise we stick to the recipe. You don't fix what's not broken. Andrea

Ken's Minestrone Soup

Reviewed: May 30, 2013
I tried Ken's minestrone this last week. I was not impressed with it. The hardy flavors that are minestrone just did not come through. I'm sorry but I won't be using this recipe again. Andrea

Corn, Sausage and Pepper Chowder

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
This was a big hit. My Nephew liked it so much that he ate almost the whole pot in one night and asked for more. I added spinach to the second pot and liked that too. This will be a permanent recipe on our soup line up.

Mama Corleone's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
I always follow a recipe as is the first time to be fair, so when I tell you this was a hit believe it. The only thing I changed was to use penne pasta. There were no leftovers. The second time I doubled it and added bacon and mushrooms just because my nephews love them. It's nice to find a great no sauce pasta.

Chicken with Garlic, Basil, and Parsley

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
I liked this recipe. It was simple and quick to put together. The only negative thing I have to say is that the cook time is to long so keep and eye on it. I will be making this dish again.
