Grilled Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Very good. I am not a big fan of salmon but actually can eat it prepared this way. My husband loves it. I've made it twice already and am making again tomorrow. I let it marinate a lot longer than 30 minutes though...probably more like 4 hours or so and I use dried herbs.

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Both my husband and I really liked this...even our 3 1/2 year old son ate it all up! I plan on making this next time we have guests over for dinner. I followed the recipe word for word except for reducing baking time to 30/30 (I used boneless center cut chops, about 1/2" thick). Next time I will reduce browning time to no more than 3 min. per side. I also sautéed some fresh mushrooms and onions on the side and put them on top of the chops when they came out of the oven. This made for additional flavour, not to mention beautiful presentation. Thanks for the great recipe.

Best Lemonade Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Awesome lemonade! Reduced the sugar amount just a little. I will definitely make this again even if it does cost me more than buying the ready made stuff!

Best Ziti Ever

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
Followed this recipe pretty much to a T and it turned out to be quite good. I halved it and had more than enough for my husband, myself, our 4 year old son AND leftovers. The ricotta is, for me, what gives this dish its yummy factor. Next time, I would probably use half sausage, half ground beef or I may even omit the meat and use spinach instead. Thanks.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Followed recipe exactly. My husband liked it but felt that the marinade did not give meat quite enough flavour. I thought the taste was fine, although meat did not come out as tender as I would have hoped. My four year old did not care for it too much.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
December 2007 - My first turkey ever and it was a success...thanks to this recipe! My mother-in-law even asked to get the recipe and she's been cooking turkey for years!!! I used an 18 lbs turkey (unstuffed), cut back on the seasoning salt a bit and cooked it in a covered roasting pan at 300F for 1 1/2 hours, 325F for another 3 3/4 hours and finally removed cover and cooked an additional 45 minutes at 325F (total of 6 hours). Yum! --- October 2009 - Cooked yet another turkey for Thanksgiving using this recipe (didn't change a thing) and it turned out even more delicious than the last time (I used a Butterball turkey instead of a cheaper one though).

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2012
I give this recipe 4 stars! It's very easy to put the marinade together and turns out very well when cooked on the barbecue. I would have given it five stars except that only my 8 year old son and I really enjoy it, my husband likes it but prefers less sweet sauces and my 5 year old daughter doesn't care for it at all...though she hasn't been liking much of anything these days.

Chicken Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Did not like the way this soup turned out at all. It looked nice but that's about it. All four of us, especially my two kids (5 & 2) disliked it. My son even made me promise not to make it again. By the way, I followed the recipe exactly except for adding a tiny bit of freshly shredded parmesan on top when serving.

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
I love carrots and this makes them taste even better! I cut down on the sugar just a little and as others did, I hardly kept any water in the pan.

Perfect Baked Potato

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
These were GREAT! I put medium/large potatoes in oven for 1 hour at 385F and they came out perfect. I also followed presentation tip given by reviewer 'xenologue'. Will make again for sure.

Sunday Dinner Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
A keeper for sure! I've made these 3 times in the past 2 weeks (for 3, then 9, then 16 people) and I will be making again and again. It will be hard to eat regular mashed potatoes from now on. Only changes I made was to add a tad more cream cheese and a little less sour cream and salt.
