Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
DELICIOUS! Everyone in my house loved this, even my children, who don't even like shrimp! As always, the readers reviews helped me to make a good recipe even better! I followed the recipe with a few modifications: I used Linguine, instead of Angel Hair pasta; 1 large bulb of garlic; 1 small onion; 2 small cans of mushrooms; 1 small can of tomato paste and instead of white wine, I used a half pint of heavy cream. I also added more parsley and basil to flavor to my liking. This was great and I'll definitely make it again soon!

Lemon Cooler Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
Quick, easy and DELICIOUS! Like another reviewer, I used yellow cake and strawberry jello instead. The cake turned out perfectly - Moist, light and not too sweet or rich! To save even more time next time, I'll try using strawberry flavored Cool Whip for the topping.

Super Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
I added a few things to spice up this recipe and it was the BEST chicken noodle soup that I have ever made. I brought it to a work potluck lunch filled with tons of other soups and my entire crockpot was emptied with everyone telling me how wonderful the soup was! I added 2 cans of cream of chicken soup to thicken the soup (it adds so much flavor), 2 cans of chicken broth, fresh carrots, celery and mushrooms, garlic, 1 whole onion (take out when soup is done)and salt and pepper to season. It came out absolutely DELICIOUS! You can make it on the stove or in the crockpot. Hint: Freeze any leftovers and you only have to heat it up for a cold winter day!

Potluck Special

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
This was the first recipe that I have been disappointed with on this site. I followed the directions and the recipe came out flavorless and mushy. I added a lot of salt and pepper, as well as garlic for flavor, but it was still very bland. Worst than that, it was too soggy and almost inedible. The recipe looked promising and the other reviews were very good, so I'm not quite sure where I went wrong. I made the rice the way I always do, in my rice coooker. Although the recipe does not specify the type of rice, perhaps I will try it again with a different (less soft) type of rice, like Minute Rice. Or maybe I'll forgo baking it in the oven and top the rice with the rest of the ingredients right before serving. That way the rice won't have a chance to get soggy.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2008
DELICIOUS APPLE CRISP! I used a bag of Empire red apples (Granny Smith's are too bitter for me) and it came out great! My only changes after reading reviews from others: I used 1/4 cup of water instead of the recommended 1/2 cup. I also added 1/4 tsp. of nutmeg and instead of sprinkling the sugar, flour, cinnamon mixture over the apples, I coated the apples in the mixture to make sure that they were well blended. This Apple Crisp recipe is delicious and I will definitely use it again!

Chewy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
BEST sugar cookies I have ever made! I was looking for a recipe that didn't call for Cream of Tartar because I didn't have any, and I found this one. I baked the cookies 9 minutes (pay close attention to the time so they don't get overdone) and I used butter instead of margarine, since that was all I had. I rolled the cookies into tight balls and pressed down on them gently when I put them on the cookie sheet. They came out PERFECTLY! Round, thick and golden. Everyone loved them - They were the best sugar cookies I have ever made! :-)
