German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Such a simple, wonderful combination. I was lucky enough to have fresh pecans so I doubled the nuts, and cut the sugar a bit. This was fantastic on top of Clara's White Chocolate German Cake from this site.

Sliced Tomatoes with Fresh Herb Dressing

Blue Cheese Dressing

I too thought this looked a bit salty, so I used regular garlic and onion powders and cut the salt in half. Very good.

Apple-Filled Cranberry Muffins

These were pretty good, everyone loved them. The biggest thing that gives them four starts was the amount of sugar. I cut the sugar back to a sprinkle for the apples and 1 C for the muffins. The juice, berries and fruit made it sweet enough, in my opinion.

Bulgur Wheat with Dried Cranberries

I used homemade chicken stock instead of bullion to cut down on the salt and added onions. I was very pleased with this as a side dish. I also threw some pecans in at the last minute which was a wonderful addition.

Moroccan Lamb with Shiraz Honey Sauce

As soon as I saw this recipe I had to make it, but I didn't have lamb on hand. So I made it with chicken breasts. It was phenomenal. Watch out because the sauce is so sweet, you just need a dribble - I will make this again.

Creole Tuna

I am giving this four stars, because it calls for canned tomatoes and the roux was a bit thick. I made this with tomatoes out of the garden, and it was wonderful. I can't imagine making it with canned. I added a small amount of onion and had to increase the milk to thicken the roux. I will make this again.

Broccoli and Garlic Penne Pasta

Simple and fast! I added fresh garden peas to mine and some extra seasoning to suit my tastes. I forget how nice a simple veggie and poasta dish can be, so this was a nice reminder!

Yellow Squash Patties

These were a great use of extra garden squash! But I found them to be a bit bland as called for in the recipe. I ended up adding quite a bit of extra seasonings like fresh basil, carrots. However, the texture was wonderful and after I made the changes to suit my tastes I was very happy with them.

Citrus Wild Blueberry Sauce

This was a wonderufl topping for pound cake. I made it with lemonade instead of OJ because that's what I had, and I could tell that the OJ would have been wonderful. I had a number of people ask for the recipe.

Squash Stuffed Chicken Breasts

I did a summer version of this with yellow squash, and will be sure to try with a winter squash too. I did not love it, but every one of my guests did. I added some garlic.

A Potato Salad Sandwich

Texas Caviar I

I did make a lot of additions to my version of this recipe, but the base was fantastic and the proportions were perfect for spicy-ness. I wanted to make a main dish out of it, so I added tinned tuna, which was wonderful!

Easy Mini Quiches

As one poster pointed out, these are not quiches, but they sure taste like it. They were quick and easy to make, easy to transport and were the first things to go at a 100 person BBQ. I experimeted with my favorite quiche fillings - mushroom/swiss/tomato, ham/tomato/cheddar, mushroom/leek/swiss. Fantastic addition to a party!

Salmon Spread II

I wasn't thrilled with it as I thought it was a little bland. But I went back added more onions, celery extra pepper and a bit of dijon mustard. Very good.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Like this needs another fabulous review!!! I am giving 4 stars because while it is a fantastic cinnamon roll, it's not quite a clone of a cinnabon. The dough is a bit cakier - but it's great!
