My favorite things to cook
I love to bake... mostly because I love to eat the sweets but I think I love cooking a little more. I love elaborate and detailed meals for when we have people over but stick to the more simple things on weeknights because I usually don't know when my husband will be home from work...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family where we always had fresh baked cookies in the house and that has a lot to do with my love for baking cookies and my ability.
My cooking triumphs
I believe everytime I have people over and everything is cooked well and tastes good is a triumph. And even if it's just my husband tasting it, if I get a rave review I'm always happy. And I am always surprised and proud when my husband says I made something a little better than his mom...
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any so far... nothing has caught on fire or burned so I'm lucky... better find some wood to knock on...

Bread and Celery Stuffing
Just like my Grandma's stuffing. This simple recipe is great on its own but can also make wonderful variations with simple additions for personal taste

Spicy Chicken Breasts
I give this a five for simplicity and a 3.5 for taste. I had six boneless, skinless, thin sliced chicken breasts. I halved the recipe and had just the right amount of rub. It was a little too cold to grill tonight so I put them in a glass baking dish and baked at 350 for 20 minutes. Keep in mind, my breasts were very thin, yours might need longer, probably 40 minutes for full sized breasts. I put in the full amount of cayenne and felt like it was a decent amount of spice but not too much. If you have a sensitive stomach I would probably do half or 3/4 the amount called for. After baking the chicken I put them on toasted bread with tomato lettuce and mayo for sandwiches. Made the perfect light dinner. I will use this recipe again.

Fresh Tomato Salsa
I love this recipe!!! It is wonderful because you know what is going into it and it tastes fabulous! I always make a double batch because it goes so quickly! And I added it up this last time... and it's actually cheaper to make your own than to buy it. LOVE IT!
