Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2008
delicious but a tad salty. I would cut the salt in half and double the rest of the spices next time I make it. I had never marinated a bird like that before. It's absolutely brilliant. I am going to attempt to rub and onion-stuff my next holiday turkey.

Curried Spinach Soup

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
Not half bad for such a low cal recipe. I boiled some chopped celery with the potatoes and added a bit of yellow onion to the green onions and added a clove of garlic (all stuff I had that needed to be eaten before it went bad). For those not watching their weight as closely, a grilled cheese sandwitch is awesome along side this.

Vegan Bean Taco Filling

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
I honestly think this stuff is better the next day and only then with crunchy taco shells or tortilla chips. Tried it as a taco filling for soft tacos....no bueno. However with the taco fixings layered on top (chopped tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, shredded cheese, avocado, rice), it made a FABULOUS taco salad with tortilla chips. I'm trying to go vegetarian, so I will probably keep playing with this to see what works.

Taco Soup VI

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
I used 2 lb ground beef, halved the spices and added a chopped onion to the meat while it was browning. Delish with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheese on top. Everyone asked me for the recipe.

Raspberry Cake

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
Really good, awesomely moist, perfectly berryful cake. Made it as a bundt cake and drizzled it with a lemony glaze. My friends who ate the cake started joking that they wanted me to bake their wedding cakes.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
This stuff ROCKS! I served it with crackers at a baby shower and some of the guests said it was the best spinach dip they'd ever had. I gave it four stars because I felt that 1/2 cup was entirely too much mayo. I instead added 1/2 package of cream cheese, which I think helped give it a flavor boost.

Glazed Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
60 minutes was way too long to bake this. It was done in 50 and in fact I think it may have been overdone, as it turned out a little dry. I added more lemon extract and more lemon zest than the recipe called for, yet it still wasn't really lemony like I like cakes to be. Will keep looking.

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Very tastey. I left out the lemon juice, as I was afraid that it would start to "cook" the chicken during its 24 hour marinade time. I might should have left it in, as I kept thinking that it was missing something. My dinner guests raved, though. Made for moist, flavorful chicken.

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Not that this needs another good rating, but this was incredibly yummy. The only changes I made were to add a can of cheddar cheese soup for a bit of extra cheesy flavor. My dinner guests devoured it up and then begged for the leftovers.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2008
I'm going to keep looking for a chili recipe. I made this just as directed and tasted it and it was terribly bland. I let my mother taste it, and she concluded that it was kind of "blah" as well. I added a dash of everything in my spice rack, about 1/4 cup of ketchup, a few tbsp. of A1 sauce, some Tobasco and Worctershire (spelling?)to try to give it some flavor and that seemed to work, as my father said it was "pretty good."

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
this stuff is fantastic! I made this into cupcakes to bring to a party and got about 1/2 of them in the liners before I realized that I had forgotten to add the sugar (OOPS!). I scraped the batter out of the liners back into the bowl, added the sugar, put the batter BACK into the liners and put them in the oven, convinced that they weren't going to turn out. They were still FABULOUS!

Chantilly Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
YUMMY! I made this to frost on a batch of dark chocolate cupcakes for a party and it was all I could do to keep myself from eating all of it out of the bowl. The party-goers raved as well.
