Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I added 1/3 cup carrots and sauted the onions, celery & carrots with 1 clove minced garlic, until tender. I decided to try a slow cooker on this. So I added the potatoes, sauted mixture, ham, water, chx bouillion, salt & pepper. I let this cook for 4 hours on low. Then added roux. Cooked 2 hours. Since it was a little thin I did another batch of roux but only used 1/2 and added it to crock. Cooked 1 hour. Potatoes were perfect. They weren't at all mushy & the flavor was fantastic. I made 4 soups for my office and this was done way before the others. I will use this over and over again. I served with bacon bits.

This is so easy & tasty. Per the prior suggestions I did boil the garlic for 30 seconds and it was so easy to peal! My boyfriend said these were great and he liked the bite to them

Kickin' Collard Greens

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2010
Being from the MN, I had never had collard greens before. I think this would have been a great recipe if I had used a different green. It was just too strong of a flavor for me I guess.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2010
I made this for an office party & it was the first one gone. I used others advice and omitted the celery. Instead of Italian sausage I used Venison sausage. I increased the amount of bacon bits as some suggested as well. I used 2 jalepeno peppers instead of the chili peppers as well. It was just the right amount of spice for me. Office staff said it had a zing but not too much.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Everyone loved this dip! I didn't have any cheddar cheese in the house, but still had rave reviews. A friend uses blue cheese instead of ranch..

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I listened to a few other people and cut the butter in half. I also added garlic because we love garlic in almost everything! My boyfriend had 3 helpings, and he normally would never have a "creamy" pasta. This made so much food as well!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was a great soup, the only changes I did were as some other suggested was to take some of the soup out and puree it. I also added a small can of tomato sauce & 1/2 can of tomato paste.

Boyfriend has eaten the entire batch already & just made it a couple days ago. I gave it 4 stars because it was a little sweeter than my taste buds liked.

Yummy Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
While I was making this I had fingers constantly in the bowl just getting 1 more taste test. Great flavor. I mixed bacon in & coated the outside with more & shredded cheddar cheese.

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

This is great - I am not a big cranberry person, but this was yummy! It's sweet, so be aware. Boyfriend got home and ate half the pot full!

Sour Cream Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2009
I did get great reviews on this. I did take some other's advise and seasoned the flour and also seasoned the pork chops prior to coating in flour mixture. I simmered some mushrooms when the sauce was cooking & it was a great topper. The only problem I had was that when I put the chops in the oven they dried out. Since not everyone likes to have the added calories with the sour cream sauce I just left it on the side.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
I had to give this soup 5 stars, it didn't start that way, but completely my fault. I need to learn to make better chicken stock! Once the stock started tasting better this soup was great. So easy. I did take direction from others when they said to make the noodles seperate. I did add corn starch in the end to make it a little thicker. Everyone went for seconds. Thanks for such an easy & great recipe.

Country Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This was great & easy. Next time I will try the chicken stock though and see if I like it better. My boyfriend thought it had a little too much butter, but I think it's great.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
I cut the recipe in half because I wanted to make sure I like it before cleaning all the shrimp. My boyfriend was manning the grill & decided to do a taste test. He ate half of them before they made it inside. They tasted great, going to clean the rest and have them again tonight, but I will do the grilling!

Garlic Dill New Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
This was a great side dish. I steamed the potatoes for 25 minutes, and since I didn't have fresh dill I used the pampered chef mixture of onion, garlic, herbs & dill. I added the minced garlic also, and thought it might be too much, but my guests thought it was perfect. Company was a bit late so I had to place in the oven at 200 for about 15 minutes, and it was great. Would definitely make this again. It was so easy & barely any prep time. I didn't have a long complicated recipe so I raided my pantry & didn't have to go shopping for anything!

Buffalo Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2007
This was delicious! Had people over for Monday Night Football & decided to try this. I should have doubled the recipe. I did take other's suggestions and used Franks Hot Sause & butter instead of making the sauce in the recipe. ***The 2nd time I made these I shook the shrimp in the mixture, refridgerated in container for 20 minutes, then dipped shrimp in milk & shook in mixture again. I also deep fried outside to avoid smelling up the hosue. Wonderful Recipe!
