About this Cook
A friend describes me as "the most tattooed, pierced Jane Austen addict ever". When I'm not working at Barnes & Noble I can be found reading, writing fantasy novels, oil painting, gardening, playing with my furry four-legged children, and of course cooking! :)
My favorite things to cook
Just about anything! Lately I've had more of an interest in French cooking. Other favourites of mine are cheesecake, quiche, breads, and just about any kind of soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a spaghetti sauce recipe that is several generations old. We've all added our own unique tweaks to it.
My cooking triumphs
My spaghetti sauce, Swiss chicken, carrot and pea salad, and pumpkin cheesecake seem to be everyone's favourites.
My cooking tragedies
Well...I once very nearly burned my apartment down making tuna patties. I suppose you could call that a cooking tragedy.

Broccoli Cheese Soup
This is the best broccoli and cheese soup recipe I have found yet! I added minced garlic (about 1 T) and about 2 t. of chives to give it a savory undertone. Very good!
