Help!!  I need fun April Fool's recipes!  I've been planning an April Fool's dinner for my extended family tomorrow but I just became an AR member yesterday.  Now I have the power of ........BLOG!  I've scoured the web, as well as AR, and the line-up is planned as follows...

Dog Food Dip,

Meatloaf Triple Layer Cake,
Strawberry Ice Cream (pink mashed potatoes with country gravy, not sure what color I'll dye the gravy)
Kitty Litter Cake for dessert
Dirty Dishwater with Flies for the drink (lemonade with one drop each red & blue food coloring...add well washed plastic flies in ice cubes)

The cake is frosted with mashed potatoes, so that's a veggie....I'll offer the remaining mashed potatoes on the side disguised as ice cream.  But I'd really like another vegetable!  I can't find another silly recipe for veggies and I can't think of one myself.  Does anyone have a fun idea?

I've never done anything like this before, but my girls (ages 6 & 10) and I are having a lot of fun planning it together.  I hope everyone is a good sport tomorrow night! lol  Thanks you guys!

I guess I'm just not as creative, because I've been trying to think of another veggie for you to do, and my brain is empty! But I love your menu, you should take pictures!!

I can't wait to take pics! I practiced making the "kitty surprises" for the litter box using Little Debbies brownies last night, and they turned out tooooo good.....I don't know if I have the stomach for this!!!! I thought of a veggie after I blogged...I think I'll go with asparagus. I'll leave a few raw, cut short, & dip the tips in fire dyed mayo for a flame and stick them in the top of the cake for candles. Then I'll just sautee the rest in garlic butter & almonds, serve on the side. That was the best I could think of!! There are a lot of recipes for candy that looks like veggies...not so much for veggies that look like sweets. I wonder why??? LOL Thanks for the support Boo....keep your fingers crossed that my guests are cool about it. After all....they're only family, they have to love me, right?! HA

About Me
Well, let's see....I'm 31, 3 kiddos (girl 10, girl 7, boy, 2) & married for 13 years to my high school sweetheart. I grew up in a very small town with my grandma & grandpa, an only child & a tomboy. There's the background, nowadays I'm a conservative housewife. I stayed home for 9 years & then worked for a year or so as a waitress. I was surrounded by teenieboppers...their phones, texting, Myspace, & drama.... Boy was that fun! :o) I quit to take care of my home, kids, & poor neglected husband. 1 year put me sooo far behind! Now I'm addicted to Allrecipes, we hardly ever eat the same meal twice in 2 weeks! :o)
My favorite things to cook
Beef tongue, cuz it's a little weird :o) I get an odd kick out of making mediocre chinese food at home.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever I'm able to make an ingredient from scratch, it's sooo very exciting! You know, the ones we all take for granted...all fully processed & packaged up in their wrappings. I'm always amazed at how simple most of them are to make at home and it always gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know I pulled it off! Oh, and every time my DH says..."Man honey, this is good!"
My cooking tragedies
Every time I cook it ends in tragedy of one degree or another. I'm really bad about burning myself. I set the oven afire fairly often and am covered in scars from the elbows down. I could get away with murder as I haven't a distinguishable fingerprint to my name. Good thing I'm a nice person :o)
