Contadina® Quick Bolognese Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2014
My kids loved it. I followed it exactly except I didn't have any celery to add. It was simple to make, lots of flavor and fed my family of 5 with a pound of pasta and a little leftover for lunch tomorrow. We will be making this again.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2011
Fantastic recipe, decadent & rich, really satisfies. It is worthy of company. I have a son allergic to dairy and used dairy-free butter and it still came out delicious. Will be making again and again.

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
I am usually terrible at making pork chops, they come out dry, but these came out great. My husband who does not usually like pork chops liked these, too. Unfortunately, the kids wouldn't touch them, even without the onions. I made the changes suggested by the other reviewers - added a little sugar to help carmelize the onions and removed the pork chops to not overcook them. I also added a little chicken bouillion to the water for flavor, would like to try apple juice next time.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
I've been using this recipe for months and it is fantastic - works perfectly every time. I even sometimes add seasoning to the dough for something a little different. A+

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
I followed the recipe as written and took it to Christmas dinner - it got rave reviews. I even made it dairy free by using soy milk. This will be the recipe for my son's 1st birthday cake next month. We can't use box mixes because of the milk. Love this!

Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
Really good basic and easy french toast recipe. I actually made it dairy-free by using 3/4 c. very vanilla Silk milk and 1/4 c. regular soy milk (I ran out of vanilla) and used vegan butter in the pan. Came out delicious!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
These were super easy to make, had everything on hand in my pantry. They were delicious, too! I used vegan butter (Earth's Balance) to make them dairy free (for my son who's allergic to milk) and it worked beautifully.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
I thought they were very good, but the kids didn't enjoy them. They certainly needed more seasoning than listed. I thought I added extra, but it might need more like triple the amount.

Donna's Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2009
This was really excellent. I added the entire unsweetened chocolate bar, 4 ounces, I think. I also added heaping cups of zucchini so it was a bit more than 2 cups. The kids absolutely love it and it doesn't need a thing on it to enjoy.

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
These were really easy to throw together and delicious. I didn't have any lemons so I added a few drops of lemon juice. I made 16 muffins and they came out great. I might make a little more streusal topping next time.

Chickeny Chickeny Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This was good and flavorful. I've been looking for a homemade option to the flavored rice in the store and this is it! I used 3 chicken boullion and at the end when I added salt, I added a liitle garlic and onion powder. I might add some minced garlic with the onion next time.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I used only 1 cup flour as recommended. They were ok, a little on the bland side for me, I like rich, fudgey brownies. They were good average cake-like brownies.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
Really good recipe with some of the modifications suggested. I used half shortening and half butter (just b/c I only had 1 stick left), I also added about 1 tsp. vanilla and baked for about 10 min. Reminds me a lot of the Nestle choc. chip recipe, but slightly healthier.

I followed some of the recommendations. I used a larger can of crushed pineapple and added some to the batter, along with a little vanilla extract. They came out quite good and sweet. I followed the rest of the recipe as written.

Apple Pie Filling

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
This came out great, even months later, still delicious. I used apples Jonah Gold apples straight from the orchard. I cut the liquid to 6 cups (4c. apple juice) which worked great for us. It made 4 large pies for us - got rave reviews each time, I still have one left.

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
The muffins were good, I only had grape and orange jam on hand, but they worked well. I doubled the recipe with no problems. I did not find them too sweet, they were just right. We will be making them again and again.

Easy Risotto-Style Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
Very easy, but needed more flavor. I added some garlic powder and salt along with the cheese at the end, but it still needed some more. I might try adding onions in the beginning next time.
