About this Cook
Grateful wife of 1, mother of 3, grandmother of 2. Stay at home type and love it! Enjoy planning events and celebrations. Thanksgiving dinner is a pleasure for me.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy baking!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Some of the recipes handed down from my mother and mother-in-law, especially nut rolls, Fluffo cookies and Cidets, a unique food made by cooking together eggs, milk, vanilla and salt, then straining through a cheese cloth.
My cooking triumphs
Preparing food for celebrations such as graduations, showers, weddings, etc.
My cooking tragedies
No real tragedies, just a few "uh-ohs".

Strawberry Preserves I
I tried this recipe and it tastes great. However, the next time I make it I will crush the berries because they floated to the top of the jars and did not congeal. As a result, I have strawberries floating around in the top of the jar and jelly at the bottom. Go figure! haha

Graham Crackers
I found this recipe along with one for home made granola in a BHG magazine almost thirty years ago. My family always enjoys these crackers. They don't taste like the box variety, but they are good. If you wait until the next day, they taste even better.

Too Much Chocolate Cake
This was a good cake, not a great cake. It seemed to get better with age, so my advice is to let it be for a day or two and then dig in. Definitely chocolaty and the chips give it interest. My husband said I would have done better if I served brownies.
