Italian Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
This is very good recipe! I used chicken broth b/c it was all that I had - but then added 2 beef bouillon cubes. This made it have a richer flavor.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
Though the recipe says for this to be done in a large pot and simmered all day, I actually did it in my crockpot. And, I know you're not supposed to try out new recipes on guests, but I did serve this for the first time to a guest. Thank goodness it turned out as well as it did. This is probably the best hot sandwich recipe I've ever made. It makes for a very nice luncheon. I highly recommend.

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Okay. I must say I was a little skeptical when I saw the ingredients to this. But, I ended up cooking this for some guests - and it was a MAJOR hit. Delicious and I wouldn't change a thing to the recipe.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
This was yummy & easy. I shredded the chicken, then mixed with the sauce from the crock pot. We ate it on buns with shredded cheese. Delish!

This is the most amazing brownie recipe in the world. But - I use a box recipe for brownie portion and make the mint & chocolate to add on top.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
I've been making this recipe for 3 years now. It is the very best chicken and dumpling recipe I've had, and it is a staple in our home. Through the years, I've encountered a couple of small "problems" with the recipe: -The biscuits soak up the liquid pretty quickly. I was hesitant to add more water, for fear I'd lose flavor. Before adding your biscuits, go ahead and add more water, then drop in 1 to 2 chicken bouillon cubes to compensate. -No veggies in this, so I add one bag of frozen mixed vegetables -- so that I feel better about giving this to my kiddos. Once, I crockpotted this and realized... I didn't have any biscuits. I found a recipe for just the dumplings, and dropped them in to the soup. Worked great. Finally, once it is placed in a bowl, add a little Sriracha. It is fantastic.

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
Delicious! This is a "gourmet" tasting recipe but very quick and easy. (side note: I used 2T of powdered garlic instead of the garlic cloves b/c I didn't have fresh garlic. I also sprinkled some garlic on the pasta after I had stirred everything together. )

Creamy Shell Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I usually don't try recipes that have very few reviews. But I was in a bind and this had a lot of the ingredients I had on hand. It was delicious. I omitted (for lack of having it) the sunflower kernels and egg. And used the veggies I had on hand. Still was soooo good.

Linguine Pasta with Shrimp and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
This is such a solid recipe. I have made as is and I have used the "sauce" portion, added 1 c. of cream per original author's instructions and replaced the shrimp with Italian sausage.

No Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
Very delicious -- though I did compensate a bit, as I didn't have some of the exact incredients on hand. For instance, I didn't have a store bought oreo crust, so I made my own by crushing about 30 or so cookies in my Cuisinart, stirring in 1 stick of butter and pressing into pan. I also didn't have cool whip, so I made my own whipped cream. I took 2c. of whipped cream and whipped it into stiff peaks with my KitchenAid, then folded it into the PB mixture. If you let it set overnight in fridge, the consistency is best. I brought it to a get together and it was a HIT.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2012
I found this same recipe years ago in a Christmas cookie book. This is, by far, the best ginger cookie recipe. I tend to be more of a chocolate chip cookie person, myself, personally. And yet, these are delicious and they could easily give any chocolate chip cookie a run for it's money (or, it's chips). Also, it is usually a hit at most holiday parties during the winter season. Yay.

Bread Machine Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
Very easy and delicious. I have made these rolls several times and they have been devoured by my family & friends. Two changes: 1) I use 5T of sugar instead of 3T. (I like a sweeter tasting roll), 2) Instead of brushing with egg white, I brush with an olive oil/garlic powder mixture. Taste like garlic bread rolls. Lastly, I am no longer buying store bought rolls b/c these are so easy to make and taste a lot better. As a result, my family is enjoying fresher ingredients and I am saving money!

Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
I do not have the time (or expertise) to make true, French-cuisine mousse. I took a leap of faith and made this, for the first time, for dinner guests. Let me just say: This recipe is rich, delicious, elegant with a francais debonair. In every way, it gives the *appearance* of an insane amount of time and effort. But, it is one of the easiest desserts I've ever made. Turns out, it was a hit with my guests and was quickly devoured.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
This is an incredible recipe. I have made twice now. The second time, I doubled the sauce (to make two 9x13 pans) and then realized (at the last minute) that I didn't have enough chicken broth. Because I didn't have enough sauce for the second 9x13 pan, I primarily used a pre-made red sauce (I love Classico brand). The result? It turned out fantastic. If you are short on time or ingredients, this recipe is delicious with a red sauce. P.S. I like adding a little bit of nutmeg to the white sauce...

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2013
Pretty amazing. I took the advice of one reviewer and added the ricotta. I do not regret the ricotta. Can anyone? And, I skipped the crushed pepper b/c ... I have little kids. I made for extended family and I felt pretty spectacular when they were like "WOW!" and "You worked so hard!"and "This is so incredible!". So, yeah. Try this recipe. It's good.

Easy Chicken Tetrazzini

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
Lives up to it's name: Easy. It's also quite delicious. Could be creamier if 2-3oz of cream cheese were added to the sauce? I added little more cheese on top than 1/4 c.
