Ground Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
This recipe didn't call for anything very flavorful, so I added plenty of onion, garlic, celery, and curry powder. It was okay, but not a big hit. We didn't finish the leftovers.

Best Yet Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Honestly, we didn't think this was anything special. We had to add a lot more of the spices for it to taste like chili, and we ended up not eating the leftovers.

Sloppy Joes II

Great! This is just what we were looking for. We used barbecue sauce instead of ketchup and sugar.

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
This had a good flavor, but it was too rich for us to eat very much of it. I'm still looking for a recipe that resembles bisque I've had in restaurants.

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I was hoping these would resemble the chocolate whoopie pies I make, and they didn't. They were too cakey. In fact, they didn't even taste like pumpkin. I don't like shortening frosting, so I mixed a can of store-bought cream cheese frosting with a jar of marshmallow creme for the filling. They tasted kind of like carrot cake. My boyfriend liked them, which is the only reason this gets four stars.

Herald's Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I make this every once in a while. It's really just okay, and I never want to eat the leftovers the next day because they deteriorate pretty quickly. Next time I'll try it with the additions other reviewers suggested--french fried onions, mustard, and rotel.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Incredible! I don't like the packets at the store, but the Terrific Turkey Chili recipe on this site called for taco seasoning. This recipe was right on, so I'll definitely use it next time I make tacos.

Terrific Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Good! I used the Taco Seasoning I recipe on this site instead of a package. I didn't have all the ingredients for this on hand, so I used a fresh jalapeno instead of the canned chiles, I used some red and yellow bell pepper instead of green, and I left out the zucchini. I used chunky chipotle salsa. I added a little garlic, but other than that the amounts of spices were right on! (Usually I have to add more spices to make our household happy.) Also, we like chili with beans, so I added one can of black beans and one can of kidney beans. It probably doesn't compare to chili with beef and pork, but I'm giving it five stars because we ate all the leftovers, and that seldom happens.

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
This is super easy and my favorite pizza sauce based on taste. Sometimes I get frisky and add more spices, but it's great as written too. This recipe sauces two pizzas for me. (I like them extra saucy.)

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I just love how fast this is ready! I make pizza all the time now. I just use regular flour. Also, I use a big dollop of molasses instead of white sugar. The molasses gives it a better flavor and color. I think with sugar or honey it ends up tasting like funnel cake, which I don't like.

Rosemary Pasta in Roasted Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Whew, too much rosemary for me! It was okay, I guess, but I probably won't make it again.

Vegan Split Pea Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
Yes yes yes! This is my all-time favorite recipe on this site. This makes a ton of soup, so I always half the recipe. I would double the water so the peas don't burn. I usually serve it with a little bit of hot sauce--any kind I feel like. Thanks, Deborah!

Pizza Crust Fantastico

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
I love this recipe. I usually add another 1/4 cup whole wheat flour so it's not too sticky to handle.

Golden Sweet Cornbread

I cut down sugar to 1/2 cup and baking powder to 2 teaspoons. This'll do, but I'm still looking for a better cornbread recipe.
