Fresh Cranberry Spiced Tea

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2012
I am expected to make this every winter! One of my brother's found this for me, as I love cranberries. Funny that I have to fight for some! I double the recipe. I also use one of those spice bags for the cloves, cinnamon, and allspice. That way it's easy to get them out.

Lahmajoon

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
I haven't tried this yet, but it sounds REALLY good. I have a copy in a cookbook called "The Original Baltimore Neighborhood Cookbook" that is very similar. However, they call for an equal mix of beef & lamb. Also, they do not call for cayenne pepper. Instead, they call for 2 cloves of garlic, & salt, pepper, & paprika to taste.

Limoncello

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2012
I use the zest of 6 large lemons, & 3 cups vodka, let steep 7-10 days, then add simple syrup. But basically this recipe...I tried making it a TINY bit less sweet, and it made it more refreshing for after dinner in the summer. I never had "real" limoncello, so I can't compare. But this is very nice on occasion!

Cheesy Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I usually use the 3 cups mozzarella. And it's 16 slices from both pies. I was guessing when I originally posted this.

Chef John's Chocolate Mint Brownies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
I just made these earlier this afternoon, to moderate success. Taste-excellent, to me. My problem was with turning out the finished brownies. I let them sit for the minimum 10 minutes. I even used cooking spray on the pan (as I personally was concerned about using a completely ungreased baking pan) & set the timer so I didn't get overly anxious. And 3 pieces/chunks later... But the actual brownies did otherwise come out well for me. I think I will attempt them another time, following the recipe as-is & let them cool longer than the 10 minutes before trying to attempt the "flip". Also, I'm curious about trying the mint extract actually IN the brownie batter, as compared to in an icing.
