About this Cook
If you found me on a desert island, I would have found a way to dance, write, sketch, and cook. And I would be happy. These are the activities that give me joy. Coming home and making something delicious smooths out the creases in the day.
My favorite things to cook
Are extravagant desserts. Sometimes I feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew, but I always find a tip or trick from a friend that makes everything come together. I love making my friends and family feel spoiled and pampered.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Oh! Too many! Flourless chocolate cake and almond-apricot torte for Passover, spicy Szechuan green beans and Thai coconut sticky rice for New Years, Mom's stuffing with gravy and my double layer pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving! Oh, so good!
My cooking triumphs
A five-layer chocolate/Irish cream cake filled with dark chocolate ganache and iced with white chocolate mocha buttercream. Perfect caramel apples. A properly done steak is always a triumph too.

Indian Barbeque Chicken
I was testing new cookware, so I used a completely different cooking method, but I wanted a nice spice combination for a chicken to go with a curry potato side. This was PERFECT. I omitted the yoghurt on account of allergies, rubbed the chicken with lemon juice and followed with the spices. Absolutely succulent flavor!

Easy Garam Masala
Much easier than the hour drive I have to any decent spice shop (for whole or ethnic spice blends). My curry tasted the same as when I use the store garam masala.

Black Bean Soup I
Super easy and tasty, though I'm always altering it to fit any extras I have on hand.
