Oh My God!

Ever since the wonders of television, it seems that cooking shows have been bouncing around the airways tantalizing cooks across the world, shows that go back further then I care to remember, The Galloping Gourmet, Jacques Pepin, Julia Childs, Chef Tell and of course The Frugal Gourmet, just to name a few.

Recently the networks have seen a great interest in viewers, prompting the newer cooking shows viewing on several channels on cable television, and have even dedicated whole channels towards the art of cooking. Being a self taught cook I spend most of my television viewing, scanning between the Food Network,The Cooking Channel and even the Travel Channel, which have several very good shows featuring culinary escapades.

One thing I have noticed over the years of mouth watering viewing, is the reactions of the fortunate diners that dare to devour the seemingly easy recipes that the chefs concoct, not knowing if the patriots are of religious faction they all seem to find a gleam of religion after the first bite by spouting the words " Oh My God" obviously in delight of the tasteful morsels dancing throughout their taste buds.  This leaves me to believe that; be it Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, Buddhist or any of the millions of believers or nonbelievers in this world, once provided with a tasteful recipe, we all believe "There Is A God.

About Me
I am a single 50 year old cook, I am the cook at my hunting club & Fishing Camp. I love the outdoors and cooking outdoors, I get invited to all the parties... and then asked to cook. But I love that, this is a passion for me, Not eating, but cooking for people and watching them enjoy my cooking. A perfect day for me is crappie fishing in the Mobile Delta, cleaning the fish and having a huge fish fry. Golden slabs of Crappie server with homemade coleslaw and hushpuppies, it just don't get any better.
My favorite things to cook
I love trying new things, living on the Gulf Coast of Alabama I love to cook seafood, and being born and raised in Dixie, I love cooking southern foods, but also love experimenting with other types of food, recently I have started cooking Chinese... and love it, so much fun using a wok
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas,Thanksgiving. I love an Old traditional Christmas and Thanksgiving, Turkey, and all the fixings with "It's a wonderful life playing on the T.V. all day long. The colder the better with a huge fire burning in the fireplace with family and friends enjoying the holiday with me.
My cooking triumphs
I have been told I cook the best Smoked Duck and smoked chicken wings. My Girlfriend cooked me a dish called "Sea-Shells"... years ago, I fell in love. They are on my recipe site, try them and let me know how you liked them, I have made a few changes, they are so good.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list but I keep trying. At 12 years old I cooked a birthday cake for my mother... the dog would not even eat it, and he was a S#!@ eater. This is a great site to learn, AllRecipes is the best site I have ever joined, tell your foodie friends to join they won't regret it. I have had several of my friends join and they love it.
