About this Cook
I am a mother, wife, Physician Assistant, and volunteer firefighter/EMT (in that order)!
My favorite things to cook
Sunday dinners
My favorite family cooking traditions
We are trying to resurrect the family Sunday dinner with a big, extended family gathering at least once monthly.
My cooking triumphs
I love to bake and usually succeed. I have been doing it so long that I do not usually even measure (kind of like Rachael Ray with cooking).
My cooking tragedies
A cheesecake recipe that I got from a friend at church. I asked her about the size of the pan and if it needed a water bath, she was very firm on the directions (i.e. 9 inch pan was fine with no water bath needed!) Suffice it to say, it exploded all over my oven!

Orange Quick Bread
Was not happy with how this bread turned out. I should always remember that things that start with baking mix are never up to my standards. Had a funny flavor/aftertaste (which is common with things that have baking mix as a starter) and had to bake much longer than stated in recipe. Would definitely not make again.

Peanut Butter Noodles
Easy and tasty. Browned the chicken in the pan then added the chicken broth and other ingredients. Also added some green beans (got to have a vegetable hidden in there if you are serving kids). They loved it-no whining or complaining at the dinner table.

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge
My grandma used to make this every fall. I could never find her recipe (probably was in her head). This is it!!!! Easy and tasty, but you do have to watch the temps on a candy thermometer as suggested by another poster.
