I come from a line for great Norwegian cooks. My grandma, 90 still lives in her own house in Norway and makes the best Norsk food!!! My mom can never have enough guests and always makes way too much everytime!
My husband and I have been married going on 4 years and have a sweet baby boy. My hubby is in the military and are stationed in DC. I find it very important to make friends and continue traditions at every new home. In doing so I fine great outlets for my crave to cook and entertain!
My favorite things to cook
Dinner by far! I'll eat 2 good helpings of dinner before 2 of dessert. I do make dessert too, as long as it is something challenging, interesting, and fun for me in the process.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pre-Thanksgiving evening brunch. We eat blintzes, ham, bacon, hash browns and whatever else that is the antithesis of the big bird day. I also love having chocolate fondue parties and I have an annual cookie exchange.
My cooking triumphs
Our first Thanksgiving married I did the full Monty of Thanksgiving! It was awesome and I have been asked to make the turkey over and over! Soaking it in a salt brine really adds to its tenderness (even if it's a frozen turkey).
Lamb is my favorite meat to cook and we eat it may different ways. I love roasting it for Christmas.
My cooking tragedies
Making soup that tasted like flavored water. I really just leave any soup up to my husband.
