Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
AMAZING recipe!! My husband and I enjoyed this dish. It was easy to cook with the time crunch I was in and the spices gave it the "kick" I like in sauces. DON'T change a thing!! It's very good and if you use the right pasta, it's healthy as well.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
AMAZING FLAVOR!!! I even took some over to the neighbors and they requested more. I followed the recipe exactly and made the cookies a little smaller then suggested. The only complaint I recieved was from my dad, who stated the cookies had a weird after-taste. We all agree that it was just his tastebuds since no one else tasted anything other than a moist and scrumptious cookie! :)

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2008
These were phenominal!!!! I followed the recipe for the most part, I omitted cornmeal(I didn't have any)and replaced it with italian bread crumbs. I also added a pinch of cumin and a dash of garlic salt to the breaded coating. I will be making these again, my family enjoyed them and were upset that I hadn't made more! :)

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
I used fresh organic beans and cooked accordingly. I highly recommend using fresh veggies since they seem to retain their crisp texture better than frozen or canned. The cheese was a nice touch to a very healthy, tasty side dish!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This was so easy and tasted amazing! The kids and hubby loved it!! I followed the recipe almost exactly, only adding seasoning salt, garlic and chicken broth. ***Now here's a "mistake" I made that turned out to be THE BEST*** While I was teaching my youngest daughter how to roll the dough into balls, we accidentally put them into the crock pot at the start, instead of waiting 30 minuted till serving time. Once I realized what we'd done(about 5 minutes later) I grabbed a slated spoon and pulled every since dumpling out.....put them in a covered bowl in the fridge....FINALLY 30 minutes before it was done, we added them again. However, they had soaked up alot of the spices and soup/broth that they had been prematurely thrown into. THEY WERE AWESOME, incredibaly seasoned and still a little doughy. PERFECT! So the "mistake" was actually a really good idea, and I figured I pass it along. It's definetly worth a try to soak the dough in the soup mixture before cooking. :)

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2008
This was an AMAZING recipe!! My husband and I cooked this together and enjoyed the outcome. We paired this with sauteed garlic asparagus. (even though he burned those) This has become our favorite "romantic dinner" to make after the kids have gone to bed. We give this a 5 star. The only complant is deciding who is going to get to eat the left overs......

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
This is WONDERFUL!!! I never made ribs until this recipe since I had no idea how to even go about cooking them. They came out delicious, tender and my husband said they were sensational! The only problem I ran into was not knowing to REMOVE THE MEMBRANE. That is a MUST-DO! If the recipe had adviced me on how to prepare the meat, I would have rated this a 5 star. ***side note*** I also used Sweet Baby Ray's original rib sauce, it was great, but I prefer more of a kick to my sauce. ***UPDATE*** I made these again last night. this time I remembered to remove the membrane. :) I also made Grandpa Dave's Texas Chainsaw BBQ Sauce that I found on this site. The sauce was better than any I've ever tried. It had just enough of a kick to it, but was still mellow enough for my husband's weak tummy. This bbq sauce and ribs recipe will now be in regular rotation in my household!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
I used this as a great base recipe. I used a 6lb pot roast, a can of mushroom soup, a can of celery soup and used beef broth in place of water. I added rosemary, sage, garlic, salt & pepper to taste. After cooking for half the time, I added in carrots, potatoes, celery and onions. It was delicious!!!

Meat Loaf Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2012
I made a few adjustments to this recipe. I pre-baked the pis hell for about 15 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients. I also put the meat on bottom then added the corn. The meat and potatoes smelled rather bland so I added 2 more tbsp of ketchup, tsp of minced garlic, red pepper flakes, italiam seasoning, & garlic powder to taste. It came out amazing!! The only thing I'd change is I'd add more cheese to the middle of the pie instead of just having it on top of the mashed potatoes.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: May 16, 2010
This is a really good recipe. I only gave it 4 stars though as it was rather bland. I made as directed minus the egg yolk and then added 2 cloves of garlic (minced), a half tsp of parsley, oregano, basil and thyme. (each) My suggestion is add the herbs/spices you like and taste test the sauce before you simmer for the 3-5 minutes. The additions I made to recipe made it a 5 star in my family and we will be using this as our staple recipe for fettachine.
