About this Cook
I adore animals of all kinds, love the fine and performing arts, and am a long time musician. I only recently started cooking, but I've been baking since I was eleven.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are things my pets can eat too! My cat and pet rats are all very spoiled.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother has been making her famous white peanut butter fudge every Christmas since as long as I can remember, and three years ago, she passed the recipe on to me. Now we both make it, and the neighbors always ask for it.
My cooking triumphs
Baking is my forte, but I'm also good at soups and stir-fries, and I make a mean turkey gravy. But by far my forte is roasting poultry. Chicken is my victim of choice in the kitchen, and Thanksgiving is a family favorite.
My cooking tragedies
My worst habit is forgetting I have things in the oven baking and leaving the house. I came home one day and discovered the brownies I had put in the oven and forgotten had turned into a block with the consistency of a paving slab!

Peach Cobbler II
My boyfriend LOVES peaches, so I surprised him with this dessert after a home-cooked meal with friends. He had two helpings, and by the end of the meal, it was completely gone! I did make one adjustment. I used four peaches instead of three. I would actually use five if they're large, six if not. Otherwise, a WONDERFUL cobbler recipe.

Vinegar Taffy
This was delicious! My mother used to love this taffy as a little girl, but hadn't had it since she was small. I made it for her for mother's day, and she couldn't believe I'd found a recipe for her favorite candy. It turned out exactly like she remembered. Easy to make, simple recipe. Five stars!

Bella's Rosemary Red Potatoes
Super-easy and delicious. I added a few pinches of garlic salt to round out the rosemary flavor, and I imagine that fresh minced garlic would also make a tasty addition to this recipe. It's also versatile; goes grest with chicken or steak.
