Born in Anderson, IN, grew up mostly in Indianapolis and moved to the Greenville, SC area at a still rather young age. I love good music and good food and aspire to make a career of either.
My favorite things to cook
Italian foods (eggplant or chicken parmesan, subs, etc.), making my own varations of sandwiches (southwestern eggplant burger, tuna burger), hot deli sandwiches (muffulettas, hoagies), barbecue, and seafood.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Haven't really carried over many, if any, family traditions at all. Like pretty much everything else I do, I'm self-taught at cooking and pick things up as I go.
My cooking triumphs
Anytime I try something new and it's a real flavor explosion. The first time I successfully made sushi at home. My 36-hour barbecue (Lexington, NC style is the only way to go) marathon last July 4.
My cooking tragedies
I still am not great at Japanese steakhouse dishes. Can't get the flavor and texture of the rice just right. Somebody HELP me!
