About this Cook
I'm not going to lie; I used to be a terrible cook. I was horrible at it. I wasn't allowed in the kitchen growing up and if I wasn't the only one willing in this little home to try, I would still be banned. When I got married, it was time to grow up and not be scared of making a grilled cheese so I did what any self respecting child of the tech years would do; turned to the internet. The amazing thing about the internet is if you haven't heard of an ingredient, or how to grill a pizza, there is a plethora of information and videos to steer you in the right direction. So here I am, 30 years old, making dinner almost every night, and dessert for a large group every Sunday. I'm now known as an awesome baker which is a title I never in a million years thought I would obtain.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts (because I also love to eat desserts). Anything with ingredients that I can pronounce. Anything that I have less than 12 questions (the standard is about 5 questions). 10 years ago I couldn't tell you what a clove of garlic was... all I can say is God Bless the internet!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving was always a great time for me growing up. A couple years ago I had the family over for Thanksgiving dinner and while I was terrified of messing up such a great day, it went wonderfully. While we don't have any specific cooking traditions, we do have our favorites and I hope to make some new traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I made a chocolate pie for Thanksgiving one year (I don't think chocolate on a crust is really the best pie in the world, but it was requested) I think I burnt the premade crust, BUT I got the recipe on here and my boyfriend and his family ate the whole thing. I thought he was lying when he said he liked it... but I was quite proud of myself ;).
My cooking tragedies
I only have 1000 characters to list my cooking tagedies? Oh man. I had to look up how to boil an egg. I've burned everything I've attempted to make at least once. I've made things the dogs won't eat and they'll eat just about anything.

Sweet and Sour Sauce I
This was so easy to make! I had been making a sweet n sour sauce using pineapple juice, but it was much more complex and I like the taste of this one a lot better. I followed the recipe exactly like it was written and it turned out wonderful!

Barb's Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
These muffins are so good! I followed the recipe exactly except for putting more chocolate chips in. I wouldn't recommend that unless you're big on chocolate though. They turned out perfect!
