Basil Tomato Soup

Yummy soup! The only thing I change is to saute some fresh onion and garlic in olive oil, thicken it with left over mashed potatoes and throw the whole thing in a blender (don't forget to let the soup cool first, or you'll end up with hot tomato soup on the kitchen ceiling!). Sometimes I use canned tomatoes with green chilies. And, like other reviewers I use half the amount of heavy cream and butter.

Salmon Steaks with Dill Sauce

Delicious and flavorful. I did add a little (okay a lot, I have a heavy garlic hand) garlic to this mix and doubled the recipe 'cos we like a lot of sauce. It also went great over the wild rice I paired with it.

Baked Potato Soup

I used to make a different baked potato soup, from this site, that called for 7 cups of whole milk. I've changed to this one and the whole family loves it. I made it tonight with a bunch of stuff from the fridge that needed to be eaten, red skin potatoes, smoked chicken, grilled corn and broccoli. Yum!!!

Quick Poached Salmon with Dill Mustard Sauce

Oh my god, this is good! It's so easy, it should be illegal. I always tweak recipes, and I didn't do anything to this. And I've used the sauce on crab cakes and all sorts of stuff since. My husband and I were actually fighting the night I made it, after we started to eat, we gave each other the ", this is good stuff" look, opened another bottle of wine, and all was good.... p.s. I made it three weeks later for my french super chef extraordinaire "I only cook my salmon on a cedar plank" mother-in-law. I breezed in from work at 6pm, and had a gourmet meal on the table 20 minutes later, I could tell by her face she wanted to hate it but she couldn't, SHE LOVED IT!! Thank You!!!!!!!!!!
