My son and I
About this Cook
I'm a single mom with a teenage son. We are both very involved with a water-ski show team. In addition to our passion for water-skiing, we're also passionate about food. I didn't have time to cook much when my son was little so we're working on expanding his palate but he's gotten much better as he gets older about trying new things.
My favorite things to cook
I love making appetizers and baking. Don't get to do either as much as I would like though.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I host or co-host Christmas Eve each year and I love making new and unusual appetizers.
My cooking triumphs
At Christmas Eve party I was co-hosting with my neice, one of he guests that she had invited was so impressed with the food and the presentation that he asked me if I was the caterer.
My cooking tragedies
I ruined a whole batch of deviled eggs, after spending an hour just peeling all the eggs, by misreading the amount of salt in the recipe.

Herb Roasted Pork
This was outstanding. I didn't have any sage so I made a paste out of olive oil, chopped garlic, fennel seed, Thyme and the salt and pepper. It was wonderful but I'm definately going to prepare this again with the sage next time.

Beer Margaritas
I brought these to one of our monthly "Girls Night Out" gatherings and they were a huge hit. I used 7-Up instead of water which I think makes them extra yummy.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I made several loaves of this bread as gifts this year and it was wonderful. I made one batch according to the recipe and one batch using the suggestions of the other reviewers. Both batches were delicious and so dense and moist.
