Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
I made this for dinner tonight, and followed the recipe exactly. I wouldn't change a thing because it was excellent! This truly is an easy main dish. The easiest Chicken Marsala I've ever made!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Very delicious and super-easy! I'm definitely not a "baker", but this is so easy and fool-proof you can't go wrong. I make it often.

Alice Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
Excellent recipe! I used thin breast fillets to speed up the cooking process, and the broiling method makes this recipe very speedy on a weeknight. The only changes I made were to use pre-cooked bacon (i just heated it for a few minutes on a cookie sheet in the oven), and I drizzled the honey mustard over the chicken before I put the cheese on top. We will definitely be having this one again!

Sweet Spicy Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
This was very good. I deep fried my wings first for 12 minutes (no breading) and then tossed them with some of the sauce. Since it was very thin, I did the same as a previous review said and added a little cornstarch mixed with water to the remaining sauce to thicken just a little. I poured more of the thickened sauce over top of the wings and tossed again. I then baked the wings in a very hot oven (450 degrees) for about 7-8 minutes just to brown the sauce a little, which is what I do anytime I make chicken wings. They were very tasty. I did cut down a little on the cayenne and it was still plenty hot. Next time I might use a little more honey since I like sweeter sauce, but overall this was very good.

The Best and Cheesiest Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Since I forgot to buy mozzarella cheese at the store, I had to substitute cheddar since it's all I had on hand. It was still a huge hit on Christmas Eve and very delicious. This will definitely be my artichoke dip recipe from now on...but, I will use the mozzarella next time.

Cherry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
This was absolutely the easiest recipe ever! The word "cobbler" has always intimidated me because I don't bake much. But this was so easy and delicious. I used a mixed berry pie filling from a can and it came out great!

No Frying Eggplant Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2010
This is my new eggplant parmesan recipe! So much healthier than the fried version and just as tasty. I did use my own homemade spaghetti sauce though, as I prefer it to jarred sauces (sorry).

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Made this last night and warmed in the crock pot at work today. Delicious! The only change I made was to add about 1 cup diced carrots and fresh corn from 2 cobs. I ate the first cup "as is". To the second cup I added some shredded sharp cheddar cheese and it was even better! I think I will also add some chopped green onion and a little sour cream to the next cup! This is a very hearty, thick soup.

Candy Corn Bark

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
I'll list the changes I made first: omitted raisins because my daughter, who was taking these in for a class party is not a fan of raisins. Also, I went to the grocery and Walmart, but neither had the white candy baking bars (apparently it's "seasonal") so I was left trying to use white chocolate chips. I had a lot of trouble getting them to melt enough to spread smoothly, it all wanted to clump together. So I scooped everything off of the cookie sheet into a huge bowl and mixed it all up. I then spread the mixture back out onto the cookie sheet (with a little help from a can of Pam spray on the spoon) and put them in the fridge to cool. My husband and daughter taste-tested them within the first hour and said they were good. The next day, the empty bowl came home (I had doubled the recipe) and every bite was gone. She said the whole class loved them! Some of the teens were a little skeptical at first because of their appearance...but once they tasted them they were hooked. We will definitely be making these again, hopefully with the baking bars next time if I can find them.

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
These were very good. For the chipotle mayo I only used about a Tbsp. of the "sauce" from a can of chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce since my grocery doesn't carry the sauce alone. It had just the right amount of spice for my family - not too hot. The fish was very flaky and tender and had a great flavor. Very easy to make and quick to throw together. Only had about 2 hours to marinate the fish, which was fine, but will definitely try this again when I have more time.

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made these for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day since Pineapple Upside Down Cake is her favorite. I made 12 jumbo size "cakes" instead of 24 smaller ones. I used the "chunk" pineapple since that's what I had on hand and just placed the chunks in the pan to form a ring and it worked out very well. I will be using this recipe from now on!

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
When I couldn't locate the can of sloppy joe sauce that I swore was in the cupboard - and after I had already browned my ground beef in preparation - I had to find a recipe for homemade sloppy joes. Once again, the great cooks on allrecipes.com saved the day. This is better than the canned stuff that we've eaten forever!! The fact that it can be made with ingredients you already have on hand is an added bonus. This will be my sloppy joe recipe from now on!

Parmesan Fondue

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
This is so good! If you don't like a lot of saltiness, use garlic powder instead of garlic salt. Then, after tasting, add regular salt to taste. I like this as much as a chip dip, with kettle cooked chips as I do with the bread. It's addicting!

Yia Yia's Tzatziki Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2010
This sauce was delicious. We've used it as a dip for pita bread with Greek Salad, as a sauce on tortillas rolled up with grilled chicken and veggies, spread on a turkey sandwich, etc. It's very versitile. Just be sure to thoroughly drain/squeeze all excess moisture out of cucumbers before mixing up. I used a fat free sour cream and it tasted wonderful! It's definitely better after sitting at least overnight, and the flavor only improves with time.

Farmer's Market Vegetarian Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2010
Very good quesadillas! At-work version: We sliced the veggies rather than chopping and they were perfect. Cooked them the night before and then threw them together at work the next day. We melted the cheese on top of veggies, open-faced in the toaster oven, placed 2nd tortilla on top and toasted it - didn't need the cooking spray. They came out perfect and everyone really enjoyed the flavor. We used light sour cream for dipping.

Chili Seasoning Mix II

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
I wish I had found this recipe a long time ago. It's wonderful, and I will always keep a batch of it on hand so I don't have to use the pre-packaged stuff. You can adjust the amount of crushed red pepper if you prefer more or less heat. The only item I didn't have on hand was the dried, minced garlic and I'm glad I decided to pick up a bottle in the store before making this!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Absolutely the easiest and most tasty chili recipe I've tried. This went together quickly and and is great for dinner on a weeknight since it doesn't have to cook all day. I also made the chili seasoning recipe from this site as recommended by others and I will never buy store bought chili mix again!

Hot Buffalo Chicken, Bacon, and Cheese Sandwich

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
These were very good. I was a little pressed for time, so I just baked them at 350, open-faced long enough to melt the cheese. The "dressing" is very good. I may make this as a dip in the future for chicken wings or chicken nuggets.

Cilantro-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This is very good! I used it on a Mexican salad recipe that I've adapted from this site with black beans, fresh corn, and red bell peppers. I made it exactly as listed and would not change a thing.

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Fantastic ham glaze! I didn't have a fresh orange, so I used juice from a carton and fresh lemon zest and the taste was wonderful. I recommend brushing ham several times during last 30-45 minutes to build up the glaze. This will be my ham recipe from now on.
