Oven Pot Roast
I thought I had a top round roast, discovered late that it was a rump. Didn't have time to slow cook and I hate slow cooked stringy meat. Followed the recipe except that I didn't have dry vermouth, used cooking burgundy and baked about 2 hours instead. The meat was tender and tasty. Don’t overcook this and you will have a delicious tender roast. I usually don’t buy rump because I hate stringy meat that is falling apart. I won’t be afraid to pass up those deals anymore; this is the recipe for rump! Makes a great comfort meal.

Lemon-Orange Orange Roughy
I have made this twice; the first time with Minneola tangerine, the second with navel orange. My husband did not get to taste it the first time, my parents and I loved it. I was afraid my husband would not like it since he is a hard core fishy fish lover, but he did! The preparation is a cinch, the flavor is fresh and delightful. This is a refreshing change from the old reliable dill or Old Bay spices.

Pumpkin Turkey Chili
I’m going with a 5 for creativity and nutrition. I like to make the recipe as written the first time I make it, if I mix it up I don’t feel that it is fair to rate it. I made this just as the recipe states. It is the perfect consistency for chili. The flavors are an interesting tasteful blend and the level of seasoning is perfect for a mixed group; everyone can enjoy it and those who want more kick can spice up their bowl. Next time I probably will add more seasoning and play around with other additions to match our personal preferences. I provide meals for my parents and am always trying to figure out how to bump up the nutrition, this one it pretty good although I’m thinking of trying it with low sodium tomatoes.
