Gelatin-Flavored Popcorn

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's super yummy and relatively easy once you get the hang of it. I've made 10 batches now for 4th of July....cherry and berry blue. (The blue looked more like teal on the popcorn, though...just in case you plan on using blue). I did find that margarine worked just as well as butter (used 1/2 cup as suggested by others) and I didn't need all the sugar..it's sweet enough with just 1/2 cup. Didn't use the thermometer. I just boiled it for 3 minutes & baked it at 250. Very fun and yummy treat!

Triple Layer Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
This is a wonderfully simple and delicious bar cookie. I couldn't resist adding chopped peanuts over the coconut before I baked it. Simple and delicious..always a good combination :)

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
This is the perfect peanut butter cookie in a bar! Quick and easy. Delicious! I doubled this recipe for a 9 x 13 pan but used only 3 eggs. I added peanut butter chips which is a must in the perfect peanut butter cookie. We *loved* these! Also, for a 9 x 13 pan I found that baking for 30 minutes at 325 worked well.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
Great Recipe! I did add 1/4 cup flour as others have suggested. I have made this *many* times and the flour definitely helps. We use this as a base recipe and make variations every time we make it (i.e. adding coconut, varying the chips, varying the types of nuts, etc.) Our favorite way to enjoy this recipe - use 1/2 cup peanut butter chips and 1/2 cup milk choc chips instead of the 1 cup chocolate chips. Then sub peanuts for the nuts called for. Delicious!! This is a great recipe!

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2010
We've made this numerous times now and *love* it. It's so easy, my kids usually make it in less than 10 minutes. We always use hot fudge in place of the chocolate syrup and top it with crushed peanut butter cups. Amazingly easy and delicious!

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Delicious! This is biscuit perfection! I have long been in search of the perfect biscuit- this is it! Taking the advice of others here, I froze the butter and grated it. Also, I didn't knead the dough for 2 minutes. Tonight I made them topped with a blue cheese/garlic butter and baked them in mini quiche dishes....heavenly!

Amazing Gluten-Free Layer Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
These bars are amazing but not gluten free as written. Don't use the butterscotch chips as called for in the recipe if you are making these for someone who can't have gluten. My mom made these bars and just used chocolate chips - they were excellent, especially the next day after they had a chance to firm up.

Bloomin' Onion Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
As written this does taste like cocktail sauce. Add salt and more horseradish. I also used half mayo and half sour cream. I think those improvements make it more like the restaurant sauce. I served this with the "Baked Zucchini Chips" from this site and it was a huge hit.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Bites

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
I'm giving this a 5 because these were easy, delicious and the perfect appetizer that I could prepare ahead of time. You will have to add some seasoning to the bread crumb coating. I added parmesan, garlic salt and onion powder. I made these the day before I needed them and fried them. I heated them in the oven the next day when I needed them and they were perfect. I served them with a honey mustard sauce. Delicious!!

I added quite a bit to the bread crumbs..garlic powder, extra parmesan, seasoned salt and basil...these were devoured in no time. I served them with "Chunky Marinara" from this site.

Passion Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
This is a great tasting recipe. But, the top layer was so crumbly I will definitely alter something when I make it again. As a side note, I used the "Homemade Condensed Milk" from this site which I recommend trying if you don't have sweetened condensed milk on hand.

Orange Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I made this twice. It definitely needed cornstarch to thicken the glaze. I ended up adding ginger & cinnamon to my second batch because I felt like it needed a little something extra than the recipe called for. My family ended up devouring that second batch.

Homemade Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I've made this a few times and it is a great substitute for the canned version...and much cheaper. I have found that you can get away with about 1 cup less powdered milk and still get perfect results.

Lemon Thyme Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
We love this rice. Great recipe (with obvious reduction in the thyme as noted by several here including the original chef). I use medium grain rice for a sticky type of rice. And, as someone else suggested, I invert a bowl full of rice on a plate or into another bowl for a nice presentation.

The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This is an excellent cookie if you (as others have noted here) use 3/4 tsp baking soda and 3/4 tsp baking powder instead of solely baking soda. Is it the ultimate chocolate chip cookie? Pretty close!

Thai Chicken Balls

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
If you bake them, definitely brush olive oil over the top to give them a crisp brown color. I cooked some without and they looked ugly and raw after they were fully cooked. These were just "okay". Not sure if I will make them again.
