My favorite things to cook
Slow cooked winter foods with brown rice, foods that taste even better the next day....brisket, beef stew. Lots of different chicken dishes
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother made something she called American chop suey.....hamburger, sauteed onions, different kinds of cooked pasta and spaghetti sauce all mushed together and then baked for an hour to get crispy on top...then put parmesan on. Great (better) the next day fried up in a pan with BUTTER.....like eating popcorn.
My cooking triumphs
Made a complete Chinese meal, many courses for a copule who were new friends. Very impressive.
My cooking tragedies
My next door neighbor laughed like crazy when I couldn't make whipped cream in my blender....that was early on.....didn't think about the cream needing air to make it whip.
