Been cooking my whole life. I recently dumped my boyfriend because he refused to eat anything I cooked and demanded I made him Hobo Stew pretty much all the time, which is a horrendous mix of boxed mac'n'cheese, canned tuna, canned peas, and a squirt of ketchup on top...we obviously weren't suited...
My favorite things to cook
Pretty much anything comforting and easy from any region of the world. Although, I do tend to save Indian for special occasions because all those spices can get pretty expensive.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't have traditional recipes, but we would always cook together. Everyone had their own job to do, only expeption being infants. I learned so much that way, I was cooking dinner all on my own by 10. And trust me, my mother abused those skills of mine like crazy when she started grad school about that time! lol
My cooking triumphs
A friend of mine dared me to make dinner from nothing but leftovers and the pantry. I made a mexican red sauce w/ canned tomatoes and chipoltes, then tossed in shredded baked chicken and steamed veggies. I made a few pie crusts, put everything together with leftover refried beans and sharp cheddar cheese, then fried those puppies up! I had some pretty spiffy empenadas to show for my efforts =)
My cooking tragedies
My first stir-fry was a soggy, salty, gross mess...the less said about it the happier I'll be...
