Calico Bean Casserole

I have been making this recipe for years, the only difference in the recipe I use is that it calls for chili sauce instead of a little zip. Gets raves everytime, and there is seldom any leftovers. Adapts well to the Crockpot too!

Chocolate Cake II

I have been using this recipe for years. It never disappoints. I usually use brewed coffee with a little instant coffee granules disolved in it. (I brew my coffee a lot weaker than Starbucks and the recipe works best with a strong robust coffee). It's great with any frosting. The batter is very runny and it makes you think you made a mistake, but it will turn out moist and tasty. Makes great cupcakes.

Bacon-Roasted Chicken with Potatoes

I love this recipe. I forgot the onion and it was still great. I skinned the chicken before baking and it was incredibly moist and tender. The potatoes were awesome too. I normally follow a recipe exactly the first time and if I think it has potential to work for my family I'll make the neccessary adjustments the next time. Here though I read the reviews and added a little water, because I agreed with some others that it appeared dry before it went into the oven. It really did not need the extra water and I wish I had just left the recipe alone. This one needs very little tweeking. Excellent, will definately make it again.

Creamy Chicken Spread

I have used this recipe for years, but always used it with canned crab meat and cream of mushroom or celery soup. It's delicious that way too. Also my recipe calls for it to be refrigerated in a jello mold. The gelatin makes it possible to unmold on to a plate for a really nice presentation. Always gets raves.

Trudy's Super Deluxe Crab Dip

I have made this recipe many times in the past, but lost the recipe. I'm so glad I found it here. It has always been a hit. Because it has gelatin, it can be poured into a mold and refrigerated. I have an old Tuperware mold and have never had any problems getting it to release. I serve it on a bed of curly lettuce and decorate with grape tomatoes or radish roses. Makes a beautiful presentation.
