Cream Of Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
This recipe is a good base, you can make small changes to better suit your taste. I did not use garlic powder but instead used fresh garlic and onion/shallots. Like other reviewers i also added drippings that i had from a whole chicken we cooked the day before and i used the left overs from that chicken (2.5 cups instead of 2) I added more flour because i like my cream of chicken thicker, and i also used 1 cup of broth and 2 cups of milk instead of 4 cups of milk. Added fresh thyme and rosemary and 1 tbs of sherry cooking wine. No sugar for us. I also added the chicken before the broth and milk. Came out great. We had warm soup for dinner and i used the leftovers for a caserole.

Cream of Mushroom Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2012
we LOVED this recipe, made it two nights in a row! The only change we made was add more flour because we like our cream of mushroom thicker, but that is just our preference, the taste was unbelievable awesome! the second night i had ran out of green onions so i used a mix of white/red onion and shallots and it came out great too. I also have doubled the recipe and used the leftovers for a casserole.

Caldo de Res (Mexican Beef Soup)

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Make sure the potatoes are cut in small pieces so they can cook better, and next time i would put them a little earlier. I also added the knorr suiza seasoning and some cumin. This is a great recipe!

Dad's Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
We used leftover turkey and followed other reviewers who sauteed the veggies. We used a small onion, and added a small potato and a couple of mushrooms. We skipped the green beans, celery seed and the onion powder since we did not have any at hand but used fresh rosemary and thyme in addition to the Italian Seasoning. The only thing we would also add next time is a bit of garlic and a little bit more pepper. For the crust we used the recipe from this website called "Pie Crust IV" SO GOOD!!! will make again and again!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2013
I had never tried Brussels Sprouts before but now I'm a fan! And so is my husband who is not a veggie person! Skipped the whole bag process and just cut them in half and mixed them in a bowl, added pieces of garlic, onion and spices as recommended by other reviewers and roasted them for 30 minutes while covered with foil. A better alternative to chips and "you can't eat just one"

If you slightly overdue the garlic in the oven it gets too crunchy and it makes everything more difficult

This is a great crowd pleaser. I took it to my work thanksgiving luncheon and my in-laws christmas dinner and they were all asking for the recipe. I'm a begginer and it was still easy to do.
