Lobster Newburg

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
Excellent, and a keeper! I did change the procedure a bit by adding the cayenne pepper to the melted butter. I then added the meat and the shell, covered to steam whilel I prepared other ingredients. This step added flavor directly to the lobster and gain addition flavor from the shell. Remove meat, keeping warm and discard the shell, proceed with recipe.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2004
Wow... excellent! Beting the bacon lover that I am, I found no reason not to brown the breasts in the bacon pan with about 2-3 TBS of the bacon grease. This gave even more flavor to an already great recipe, Thank you... The presentation is great for company

Irish Cream Chocolate Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2004
If you like a creamy cake, bake your cheesecake in a water bath. I double wrap the springform pan in foil and set in a bigger pan, fill half way up the side with hot water. Bake for 55 minutes then turn off the oven and leave for one hour. Perfect cake, creamy without cracks!!

Great flavor with the wine. Please allow cooking time at least 8 hours. Don't know what kind of meat one of the prvious reviewers used but at 6 hours my boneless chuck was no where near done.

Creamy Caramel Flan

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2003
This is excellent. I put it in ramekins, which gave me 10 individual servings. I made this several times and once with out the Flan sauce (melted sugar) I served it with maple syrup drizzled over the top. Great flavor and a lot less work. Next time fresh raspberries!! Thank you for a great simple recipe GP

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2003
Amen to the last two reviews, I love to drink beer (On Wisconsin) but I don’t like to eat it. One taste and the beer just overwhelmed. Also, would not bother spending the money for the rather expensive onion soup, with the cooking time a nice chopped onion gave same results with more flavor. Cooked my roast for another hour on high to get it tender.

Tropical Tiramisu

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2003
This was excellent, however I would double the recipe next time as there is enough to make seveal batches. Also, I sprinkled Rum (dark) on the cubed cake. This added needed flavor. Also, I used Angel food cake and added coconut to the recipe. Topped it with whippped cream and added a slice of Mango to the top for presentation. GP

Artichoke Bites II

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2003
Made this twice, both times bring it to work to share. The first time I followed the recipe as stated, the 2nd time I added about a 2tsp or more of Hot sauce and worcestershire. Also upped the Italian seasonings to 2 tsps. Cut back on the onions and left the Artichoke pices much bigger. Hands down, the second go around won their hearts and stomachs!! GP

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: May 29, 2003
In response to another review...there is no such thing as too much gravy! This is an excellent recipe. I did not however use pork chops, although I am sure it is good with them. I used a cut of pork that looks like a country rib without the bone. Removed some fat then followed recipe as stated. I shared the results with neighbors and friends, they begged for more! A “10” in my book!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: May 8, 2003
Ihave a large iron skillet and doubled the recipe. Was one of the most popular cakes I have made. So much so I made two in one week and passed on the recipe 5 times. This is so simple to make. Remember if you double the recipe for a large skillet, double the baking time. GP
