As things change from year to year, one thing that is stable in our lives are our "Family Traditions". It can be the little things like the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, Fourth of July picnics and fireworks, raking leaves in Fall together, Santa Claus or....
Thanksgiving....the celebration of Family and Friends! As Marley and I are continueing the Lepp Family tradition to be here in Charleston, SC for Blue crab and steamed shrimp on Thursday and Turkey Day on Friday, it is so great to be here a little early to
help in all the preparations this year. You know....defrosting the freezer for Uncle Mark , shopping, cleaning, vacuuming, washing and making beds, getting out all the historic family fancy dishware, making out the menu together, shopping, gathering all the
recipes.....all so much fun when you do it all together! Did I mention....Shopping??? Wednesday (tomorrow) all us gals usually run around and go thrift shopping while we pick up last minute grocery items. Fun, fun, fun! Mark has a gal friend who set up a nice
sewing machine for us this year, too, so who knows what we could all do with a few dollars AND a power tool!
- GrandMommy's coffeepot
It was kinda of fun this morning to wrack my brain and try to remember how to make a pot of percolated coffee..."1 tsp coffee per cup of water" (lines on the inside of pot) seemed to come to mind....so I assembled the contractraption, plugged her in, and took
Marley outside for a walk. To my surprise....20 minutes later....it's tastes like real coffee! Yes, that is me in the reflection of the coffee pot....I'm the one in the red robe!
Be thankful for the little silly things in life....like Grandmommy's coffeepot...because I'm pretty sure that was her voice I heard in my head on how to make coffee....I haven't done it in 30 years! From our extended family to yours....Happy Thanksgiving! Remember
to establish your own little traditions, no matter how insignificant that little thing may seem....done year after year....its a Tradition!
Stay safe in travel,
hug and kiss your sweeties,
