It hardly seems like just a week ago today! But last Saturday, in Panama City, Florida, Gary (GDerr) and his Clare, Pelicangal (Jan), CindyLepp, Robogramma (Robin), Arich (Amanda) and her sweetie, Tim and Staci(Staci) and her hubby, Jim......from all parts of the country got together to eat all kinds of crazy food! Crab, oysters, gator, froglegs, fried mushrooms! You name was on our table! When we got there....there was a long line! Luckily, Amanda got there first and saved us a big table!

( Arich) Amanda and Tim

Of our group, Amanda has been on AR the longest! And she is the youngest! She brought us mardi gras beads that were shaped liked seashells to get us into a festive mood!

Tim and his dancing Frog legs cracked us all sides were hurting we laughed so hard! (No thank-you, Tim! Keep all your "tastes like chicken" to yourself!)

Staci and Jim are from Mississippi and SO MUCH FUN! Staci has the heaviest Southern drawl, talks with her hands, skinny Minnie but she will eat anything! Great Gal! Her hubby, Jim, works hard, plays and fishing are his faves! We tried to kidnap them to our condo, we wanted to keep everyone FOREVER....but they had to get back to their place before dark-thirty. I was just so glad to get to meet them! I wished everyone could be my neighbor! But I guess that's what made this visit so special!

Here's Robin (Robogramma)....OMYGOSH! She is adventurous, loving gal,Navy wife,(Thank-you for your service!) full of hugs and giggles! She is a wonderful seamstress and makes all her clothes! She made me 2 aprons that I just adore! In this pic she is wearing her "Joseph's coat of many colors" that she made herself! Looks so good on her too!

Our Pelicangal with her Gator bites.....

About Me
Down here in Central Coast Florida since late Aug. 2012. I still cook and bake and its so good to be around family again!
My favorite things to cook
There is just one of me but I do cook dinner almost every night. I love easy dishes on the nights I really don't feel like cooking. Grandmommy Capps lived in Rocky Mount, NC....Sundays were a holiday! Dinner was at 2pm. Leftovers were snacks later(dark thirty)....she was a great biscuit and piemaker. Being the oldest of 23 grandchildren, I was the BEST dishwasher! Hand wash everything in a washpan! I've never heard of it??? You need one to play as your wash sink, and then you rinse in the kitchen sink.....It was air dry either....someone had to dry ALL the dishes! I love my Sis for that!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have ham, blackeyed peas, collard greens, and corn muffins on New Year's Day for good luck! Peanut blossums are my favorite cookie for Christmas!
My cooking triumphs
"Banana Crumb Muffins" were delicious & gorgeous, looked store-bought!
My cooking tragedies
I have left the neck(in the bag) in the turkey in the past 5 years! I should know better! Always rememember to check BOTH ends of the turkey before you cook it! I'm Blonde...Sheesh!!
