Slow Cooked Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 27, 2010
I make a similar dish (my moms) and it has Always been a hit and requested often. I use kidney beans as well as brown beans but I also add onion and hamburg. I use yellow mustard instead of dry and No molasses. I have never used cured pork and dont imagine I will try it. ??

Nacho Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Great recipe!! I have made a very similar dip for so long now~I have never tried it with chili...I will be trying it now :)Instead of chili, I use hamburg cooked with taco seasoning. I put that over the cream cheese then layer salsa then Mexican or Taco shredded cheese. (you can add sliced green chilies and/or sliced olives too) can't wait to try with chili. Thanks!!

Slow Cooker Bean Casserole AKA Sweet Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
Yum! I make this all the time for two reasons...1) Its delicious! and 2) Its requested for every cookout. My mom has made it forever and now I do. Instead of Molasses however, I use brown sugar. I also use 160z each of Kidney beans as well as the Brown beans. Also, I add about a cup of chopped onion. I used 1 lb of hamburg and a 1/2 lb of bacon. Oh & Ive never tried Ketchup! So easy to double for larger parties! I happen to be making it for a Labor Day party this weekend :)

Embarrassingly Easy Barbecue Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
Im sorry but I tried this because of a similar recipe I have for Steak tips but this was not good to my family at all! I use 1 Cup each of Ketchup, Coke and Brown sugarand mix along with the small bottle of Italian Dressing. I marinate overnite if not 24 hours and it ALWAYS gets rave reviews (even though it sounds odd) the meat is always so tender it could almost melt in your mouth! Try that for a yummy change :)

Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Blue Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2008
A family introduced me to the dates wrapped in bacon close to 10 years ago - How unique I thought it was! I have never seen it at any restaurants here in Mass. It is such a Huge hit everytime I make them (and I get requests to make them at every holiday!) I cant wait to make them with various cheeses and almonds. I have used the Maple flavored bacon at times but will definitely try plain bacon with brown sugar! Thank You!

Wave Your Flag Cake

Reviewed: May 21, 2008
Great recipe..I agree you cant go wrong with Jello & cool whip! My only change to this cake is to sometimes use cake! I use any kind of white, lemon, or even pound cake. You can 'frost' the top with cool whip then add the berries or as I do, making the cake into 2 layers, putting a down 1 cake layer, adding thin layer of cool whip then berries, then the 2nd cake layer; this time arranging the berries over the cool whip as the USA flag :-)

Lemon Poppy Seed Chicken Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 15, 2008
Sounded great so I chose to make it for a cookout. Yum! I did add to it tho - Cheese that I cubed, sliced olives, then I cut up (small pieces)steamed broccoli - cooled. I added a little more dressing since I added more veggies (& broccoli soaks up liquid!)So delicious and I was asked to make for Memorial Day Cookout as well! I might add slightly sauteed zucchini &/or summer squash next time!

Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2008
DELICIOUS!! Every family party for the past 10 yrs. I am asked to make this. Its always a huge hit! The differences is I use only spinach, no iceberg. I use 1 tsp eaxch-celery seed and Prepare Mustard (like Grey Poupon. Instead of the croutons & onion rings-right before i serve it I pour about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of Peppridge Farms dry stuffing mix then the dressing. I agree that the dressing is the reason this salad is so delicious!!
