Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: May 20, 2011
I am VERY picky about chocolate frosting, and this is absolutely the best recipe I have ever tried! It's so good because it's incredibly chocolaty a as well as being creamy. The consistency is perfect.

Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
Very good. I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil, stewed tomatoes because that's what I had, omitted the Worcestershire, added a tsp. or so of chicken boullion and pureed the whole thing before simmering. YUM!

Whole Wheat Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
This bread is really good. Here are some changes that I made to make it even better: Reduced the cocoa powder to 1/4 C., increased the oil to 1/4 C. (to make it more moist,) added 1/2 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/4 C. of applesauce, and omitted the cinnamon and nutmeg (I felt like two flavors were already plenty.) I quadrupled the recipe and made fifteen mini loaves for gifts. I had my kids try one and they loved it. It was moist, delicious, and not overly sweet, with the added benefit of whole wheat. I bake A LOT, and I'll definitely make this one again! (Note: the above changes I included are for the original, one-loaf recipe.)

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
These recipe was EVERY bit as good as everyone said it was, and I have never made sugar cookies successfully before! They rolled out beautifully and were yummy too. Because I live in a high-altitude area, I added 1/4 cup of flour. Also, next time I will double the vanilla and add orange, lemon, or almond extract (or perhaps a bit of nutmeg) to enhance the flavor, although they're already delicious. I rolled them out about a 1/2 inch thick and they were gorgeous... looked and tasted just like those Lofthouse cookies. All they needed was pink frosting and sprinkles! Make them, you won't be disappointed!

Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
This recipe was pretty yummy, but I found one I like more that didn't have egg whites. I think the water and egg whites make the almonds a bit soggy.
