Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
I make this dish often, the soup was a new spin to me I use 1 to 1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1/2 can of drained sweet corn and 1/2 can of rotel gives it a nice kick I accidently opened golden mushroom soup went with it, turned out very good however I only used 1/2 a can also add lots of garlic and carmalize the onion. Added a splash of buttermilk and 2 dollops of sourcream to the potatoes. Sprinkled maybe a 1/4 cup of cheddar on top trying to kinda watch the colesterol kids and hubby loved it thanks for the insperation.

Venison Fajitas

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
We thought this was fab!!!! Very tender, only change I made was 2 cloves OMAS pickeled habanero garlic. Yes we do like it spicy, if you go there, it is not fot the faint of heart. ENJOY PS: I am not a huge fan of game meat, however if you soak it in milk for about 2 hrs prior to the marinade tastes close beef tenderloin

Pork Medallions with Dijon Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
Very tasty there wasn't anything left. Only changes I made was to add some garlic powder and 1 tsp cayenne to the flour mixture and about 2 tlbs olive oil to the butter so that it wouldn't burn while browning the pork. Very good dish will make again great with baked potatoes.

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
Very good I put this in a caserole so I did not have the overflow issues.I made 1/2 recipie added 3/4 sm onion diced 1 garlic clove minced 6 oz shredded mozzerella and about 12 oz cubed cheddar also added the worstershire pretty heavy handed with the splashes a splash of 1 tbl sp spicy bbq sauce in the mixture lots of pepper white, black and a little cayenne garlic (spices are the trick to ground turkey)liked by all nothing left maybe shouldn't have 1/2 since I here the sandwiches are so good according to others Cooked for 45 min at 400 let rest for 10 min I put some paper towels over it while it was resting to soak up some of the oil from the cheeses then brushed bbq sauce on top and returned to the oven for 5 min. Very good boys didn,t realize it was turkey LOL

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
I give this 5 stars because the only mistakes were mine. I doubled it to cook for six based on some other reviews that it wasn't enough. I cook for a crew of boys with mens appetites.I believe this was probally the correct amount however keep the burgers small so that they will be easier to flip on your spatula so that they don't crumble. Taste was superb. The only thing I really changed other than making them to big my fault, was to had a tsp of chopped jalepeno, bbq sauce instead of ketchup and some garlic powder and yes I did add 1 egg for the 2 lbs I think you need that to bind it I did not get the meatloaf consistacy others felt (prob the bread crumbs they added) Very Good Thank You Jan

Cheddar Biscuit Cups

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I am not normally a baker however this recipe is easy enough. I do feel that they need to cook more like 30 min so they are not doughey in the middle. Outsides of it tasted well enough but the inside was tart. My opinon because they did not cook long enough at 17 min to 20

Beer Brisket

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I followed the recipe accordingly with a 4LB brisket the seasoning I thought was spot onmy only deviation was I used a Knorr concetrated boullion 1tsp However I think the temp is off I thought it was high so I started at 350 and reduced 25 degerees every hour still turned out tender but not as pink as would have cared for. Although alll in all a good brisket. No leftovers Thanks(:
