Slow Cooker Tapioca Pudding

I was a bit disappointed with this recipe. It ended up with a grainy texture and tasted vaguely of scrambled eggs. Perhaps that is because my slow cooker only has high and low, and I used high.

Polish Chicken and Dumplings

Like many other users, I referenced the recipe primarily for the dumplings, and I have to say I was pleased. I did other things with my recipe that made the dumplings cook longer, but even after that (and sitting on the stove waiting for my husband) they never got water-logged or fell apart like most more "biscuit"-type dumplings. They were delightful in a recipe like this, and I look forward to trying them in other soups and stews.

Banana Nut Brownies

As I was making the batter, i didn't realize my oven had died! I ended up microwaving the brownies for about 10 minutes on high. It was very moist and cakey, I actually think it was slightly underdone. The flavor was really nice, though. I had used 1/4 cup of cocoa, and it was a great chocolate/banana combination.

Easy Garam Masala

Thank you! My husband keeps urging me go try cooking Indian food at home, but I didn't want to have to buy a whole bottle of spice I might or might not end up liking. All other recipes were for toasting and grinding whole spices, which I rarely have on hand. This recipe hit the spot perfectly!

EAGLE BRAND® Chocolate Fondue

Absolutely awesome. I used 6 oz. Dove dark chocolate because that's what I had on hand. It turned out wonderfully and was delicious with strawberries and angel food cake for Valentine's Day. It also makes a fabulous fudge sauce for ice cream sundaes!

Monkey Bread II

I wanted to like this, I really did, but I just couldn't. I found the sauce to be the major problem- the recipe makes too much, and with so much butter it ends up far too rich and cloyingly sweet. Not wanting to waste any, I poured some directly into the pan both before and after dunking all the dough balls. While it makes for a beautiful presentation, there's just so much it's overpowering. Also, the bread the recipe makes seems to be too delicate to stand up to such a heavy sauce. I'm sorry but I will not be using this recipe again.

Sour Cream Biscuits

Dense little suckers, they were, but as I'm not an experienced biscuit maker, that might be my technique more than the recipe. They managed to stay moist enough to be palatable, so I will try them a few more times to see if I can get it right.

Beef Tips

A delightfully basic, yet delicious recipe. I omitted the extra salt (figuring correctly that there would be plenty in the soy and worc sauce) and instead of the dry gravy mix, I simply added 3T cornstarch in a slurry with about an ounce of water. Thickened beautifully and tasted great.

Double Quick Dinner Rolls

A bit more dense than a traditional risen roll, but that's to be expected. Still came out warm and soft, and tasted delightful with butter. For the ease and speed of the recipe, I could not possibly ask for more.

Light Fruit and Nut Granola

I didn't have any applesauce, so I used a 1/4 c (total) of canola oil- and I'm pretty sure that's why it didn't come out as sweet as I would have expected. It also burned slightly, but that was my oven's fault. :) I will try again with the applesauce, but as it was it was just okay.

Focaccia Bread

A fabulous and quick alternative to longer-rising recipes. The kicker is to make sure that the dough is left in a warm place to rise- I usually put it near the stove while it's preheating. Otherwise followed the recipe just as written and it rose nicely and baked up beautifully.

Entirely excellent. I subbed in 1/2 c whole wheat flour for part of the AP, otherwise followed to a t. They came out fluffy and delicious.

2-Step Chicken 'n' Biscuits

I was pleasantly surprised at how very very quick and easy this recipe was- I pulled it together in less than 20 minutes. I would add a few herbs and spices next time, but there's enough salt in the soup that it wasn't tasteless just as is. Nice recipe.
