Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2014
I've made this recipe 3 or 4 times now and it is wonderful and refreshing. Not too sweet or too vinegar-y. Love it!

Apple Crisp I

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2014
O.M.G. So good! I needed to adapt the recipe a bit. I used 16 very small but sweet apples from the backyard and baked in a small rectangle stoneware so bigger than 8" square but not 9"X13". The amounts for the topping stayed the same. I did add a bit fresh Meyer Lemon to the apples while I was slicing to keep them from turning but that's the only thing I did different. It came out phenom! Will I make this again??? Absolutely!

Sy's Challah

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
I was looking for a sweet challah recipe with a high rating. Sy's Challah is pretty good! The texture is perfect......couldn't wait so tried a slice (or two) warm from the oven. De-lish! 4 stars...because this is a good recipe but, forme, a little too salty and not sweet enough. I did add 1/2 cup of sugar to the recipe but it just needed a touch more. I can't wait to try again!

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2013
I doubled this recipe, added the onions to the sauce while it cooked and added nutmeg to the sauce. Also, I added the cheeses to the hot sauce then added Langostinos to the mix and....heaven!

Easy Chicken Cutlets with Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Excellent and easy. I substituted Port for Sherry and a dessert wine I already had for the Marsala. Definitely will make this again...

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
As I was making dinner for one, me, I followed the recipe but 'eyeballed' the amounts. I had jumbo shrimp in the freezer which I defrosted. Using 5 shrimp, I used 1 heaping tablespoon of Dijon mustard, fresh lemon juice, approximately 1 tablespoon fresh grated elephant garlic and 3 tablespoons of butter. After I removed the garlic mixture from the stove, I added a splash of white wine. I poured it all over the shrimp and baked at 450 deg. for about 10 or 11 minutes. I sprinkled a little freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the shrimp and served it over a bed of white rice. It was delicious, super easy and super fast (this was a last minute "what should I make for dinner tonight" moment. I would even make this for company!
