Italian Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
This is a great recipe GIGI. My children will not eat Italian sausage so I use garlic sausage. I leave out the garlic in the recipe since the meat has it. I add fennel seed, half a can of no-salt tomatoes, double the onions, peppers, and basil. Don't use wine since I never have it. I serve this with cheese and potatoe perogies. My 5,6,and 7 year olds love this.

Grandma's Noodles II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
Great tasting noodle. To speed up the proces: after rolling out the dough I loosley rolled the dough onto the rolling pin. I then slid the pin out of the dough and using a sharp knife, cut noodles off the roll.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
My mother has always made cabbage rolls this way, except she leaves out the egg and tops it all off with pats of butter before baking. Yum, yum

Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
My teens love this garlic bread. They, however, like it baked in tin foil for 10 minutes instead of toasting it. They like the chewy centre and like to sop up the sauce on they're plates with it. I don't melt the butter and I use dried parsley. Thanks Grace.

Bananas 'N' Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Made this twice for my teens. Once I used choc chips and once thawed blueberry for the walnuts (have child alergic to nuts). What a wounderful cake. They ate it in one day. I used marg instead of shortning/ yogurt for sourcream because thats what I had on hand. It's now my go to cake for teens and grown ups because it not to sweet. Thanks Oma.

Baked Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I made this chicken last night. I cut the breasts horizontaly (some of the my children can't eat such a large portion). I ground a box of stove-top stuffing mix for the bread crumbs (my children love it). I had to increase the oil. The stuffing crumbs covered 10 breast halfs. If I hadn't made them smaller I would have had too much bread crumbs. (did not salt the chicken because the crumbs were salty enough) DELISH!

Apple Crisp III

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
I made this last night. I followed reviewers advice. I baked it longer and used white and brown sugar. It was ok for my teens but I found the topping much to sweet for me. Next time I'll use just white sugar and cut that by half.

Ranger Cookies III

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2011
My children love these cookies. I chop up the raisins before adding them to the dough so that they blend in better with the nuts. I enjoy the texture of these cookies. Thank-you Rhonda.

Classic Bran Muffins

great recipe. I've added a little ground flax seed, chopped up the raisins, and for a surprise I put half a pitted date in the bottom of the liners before adding the batter. these are good the next day cut in half with butter in the center and then microwaved to warm them.

Tropical Lime Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
I found this cake to be way to heavy. If I made it again I'd reduce the oil to one quarter cup.

Split Pea and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Great comfort food and easy on the budget. I soaked the peas covered in water overnight. Just left it on the counter and then rinsed them in the morning. Like others, I also used chicken stock and omitted the salt.
