Easy and simple. I made the Tahini Salad Dressing using the recipe I found on allrecipes.com also.

Garlicky Appetizer Shrimp Scampi

Nice flavor, but too much butter for my taste. Next time, I'll cut the butter by half.

Chicken and Cashews

The flavor was a little lacking in my opinion. It was not salty enough. I ended up adding vegetables to add more color and flavor.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2011
I love this recipe and make it for almost every occasion. I always split the dough up in 4 to 6 plastic bags before chilling. If I'm in a hurry, I put a couple in the freezer for about 30 minutes. For the longest time, I always used flour to dust the dough and working surface but then recently read reviews where users suggested using powdered sugar instead. This is an awesome tip as your dough doesn't get dried out after reworking the same dough a few times. You'll find that sometimes, you will need to re-chill the dough after you roll out a couple times as the dough becomes hard to work with when it is less cold. This is why it is good to chill in small portions to begin with. The dough is sticky before chilled. Once chilled, it is fine and of course you will need to dust with powder sugar or flour to keep from sticking to your working surface and rolling pin. I've seen some reviews complaining that is bland. In my opinion, I think it's just perfect if you are going to ice or decorate with sugar crystals. The sugar cookie icing recipe on this site goes perfect with this cookie. I tried rolling out directly onto parchment paper and I don't know how other people do it. Mine just slides around every where. I only line the cookie sheet with parchment paper. I always use parchment paper when baking cookies.

Poppy Seed Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
I haven't tried this with the glaze yet because I didn't have orange juice. The muffins alone are delicious. I can't wait to try with the glaze.

Served during Christmas eve party and every one loved it. I served it as is, and some guests just added a shot of vodka to their glass. Yummy!

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2005
Changed the recipe quite a bit based on suggestions by other reviewers. Cut water and cornstarch by more than half. Used slightly less than 2 cups breading and added garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper and black pepper. Only coated shrimp once. I friend about 1.5 lbs of shrimp and still had plent of batter left. So I used the same batter and breading for chicken tenders. I still had plenty left. Both shrimp and chicken tenders turned out wonderfully.

I had to increase the amount of spices and used less broth, but it's a good base dish.

I made it once as is and it was good. The 2nd time I made it, I added some sauteed spinach as some others have done, and it was better.

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
So easy to make and tastes good. I didn't give it five stars because I like my meatloaf with a little more tomato sauce. I forgot the milk but it still turned out moist.

Elegant Orzo with Wilted Spinach and Pine Nuts

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
I was missing some ingredients (tomatoes and pine nuts) so I added black beans and chopped olives (variety). Delicious and so easy to make. I found that the spinach wilts quickly just tossing in the pan and did not need to cover for 5 minutes.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2010
I opted not to fry per the recipe for calorie saving reasons. I oven fried also and the taste of the sauce was very good if you like a sweet sauce. I know that it would have been extra yummy had I fried it in butter per the recipe, but my conscience wouldn't let me do it.

Sweet Green Bean Bundles

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
I liked this recipe except I would use fresh green beans (steamed) next time because the canned beans broke apart easily as I was trying to wrap them with the bacon. Also, I cut the sugar and butter by half. Next time, I'll also remove the foil the last 10 minutes to give the bacon a chance to get a little crispy.

Mexican Bean Pie

I served this at a potluck, and people generally liked it but I thought it was bland even though I doubled the amount of spices and pepper. I will try this again with variation in spices.
