Bruschetta I

This was so good! I made Mama D's Italian Bread (also on allrecipes) toasted it and served it with this Bruschetta, it was fantastic. My husband said it was the best thing he'd had in ages!! Oh and, my tomatoes were pretty sweet so I did add a splash of balsamic vinegar as suggested and it balanced out the flavours really well.

Very good white bread! I made it as bread and we really enjoyed it! I also scaled down the recipe to one loaf and made it into hamburger buns. It made great buns :)

Blueberry Cornmeal Muffins

Fantastic! I made the recipe as written and they are soo good! My 3 year old, very picky son loves these muffins! Having read the reviews that said the muffins don't stay fresh, I stored these in the fridge and reheated them in the microwave... fantastic!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Fantastic! This was just what I was looking for as it called for old fashioned oats instead of quick cook! They turned out crispy at the edge and chewy in the center, absolutely perfect! (I used lard instead of shortning as it was what was in my cupboard)

Bread Pudding III

This is a great base recipe!! I used oatmeal brown bread (because that's what I had) and brown sugar (because it goes nicely with the bread) It worked out perfectly because the proportions in the recipe are perfect!

Homemade Bagels

These turned out fantastic! I used 1c of whole wheat flour and 2c of all purpose. I forgot to add the egg yolk (and realized it too late) so I did not need the other 3/4c of flour. In the water for boiling (large dutch oven) I added 1tsp salt, 1tbsp honey, 1tsp baking soda. The salt and honey add flavour and the baking soda and honey both help with browning once they go in the oven. Because I used a big pot of water I was able to boil 3 at a time, I put them in for a minute flipped them then another minute. Before they went in the oven I sprinkled some with dehydrated onion and some with poppy seeds. Yummy!

Kalamata Olive and Garlic Bread

Yummy! This bread tastes amazing! I added a bit of chopped up roasted red pepper which looked pretty too. I will make this bread whenever we serve lamb and I think it will be a wonderful bread for chicken salad sandwich!

Mama D's Italian Bread

So good! This bread has the taste and texture I've been looking for! I added a tablespoon of olive oil to the dough just to help the bread last better on the counter, it worked but we ate the bread so fast it didn't really matter :) Freezes well too! *This bread dough makes the best olive bread, homemade or store bought, that I've ever had. Using the basic recipe add about a cup of each kalamata olives (pitted) and green stuffed olives no need to chop the olives. Also add 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped. I sprinkle the olives with a bit of flour and add them to the bowl before kneading. You could scale down the recipe but the olive bread freezes really well and disapears fast!

Simple Whole Wheat Bread

So good! This bread is tasty, sweet and beautiful! Thank you for posting a recipe that doesn't use a bread maker and has a good yield! I used buckwheat honey instead of regular honey and that adds another bit of flavour to the bread. Oh, and my 2 year old son loves this bread!

Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

This was good, I'm in Nova Scotia and had some frozen NS blueberries left over from last fall which made it even better:) The only thing was the cake bottom was a bit hard and the top a bit wet (maybe because the berries were frozen?) I think next time I would dust the frozen berries with a bit of cornstarch to help the topping firm up.
