Homemade Bagels

These turned out fantastic! I used 1c of whole wheat flour and 2c of all purpose. I forgot to add the egg yolk (and realized it too late) so I did not need the other 3/4c of flour. In the water for boiling (large dutch oven) I added 1tsp salt, 1tbsp honey, 1tsp baking soda. The salt and honey add flavour and the baking soda and honey both help with browning once they go in the oven. Because I used a big pot of water I was able to boil 3 at a time, I put them in for a minute flipped them then another minute. Before they went in the oven I sprinkled some with dehydrated onion and some with poppy seeds. Yummy!

Very good white bread! I made it as bread and we really enjoyed it! I also scaled down the recipe to one loaf and made it into hamburger buns. It made great buns :)

Shrimp Fettucine

Yummy!!! I used homemade pasta (because I had some extra from a few days ago) and the sauce was 'worthy' of the pasta! I used wine instead of broth, like most of the reviewers here but otherwise followed the recipe.

Scented Applesauce-Cinnamon Ornaments

They turned out great and the kids enjoyed making them! Also, once they are fully dried, they can be coloured on with crayons which was great for the little ones!

Honey Whole Wheat Challah

This bread was easy to make and very flexible in it's rising time which is nice! The only tip I have is begin braiding in the middle of thethe loaf and braid out to each end (I find it easier to make a good looking loaf this way!) My only complaint was that the bread was denser and heavier then I expected Challah to be but that is because of the whole wheat flour... I shouldn't have been surprised :) Thanks for adding a good whole wheat bread recipe that is pretty enough to grace any dinner table!

Blueberry Cornmeal Muffins

Fantastic! I made the recipe as written and they are soo good! My 3 year old, very picky son loves these muffins! Having read the reviews that said the muffins don't stay fresh, I stored these in the fridge and reheated them in the microwave... fantastic!

Bruschetta I

This was so good! I made Mama D's Italian Bread (also on allrecipes) toasted it and served it with this Bruschetta, it was fantastic. My husband said it was the best thing he'd had in ages!! Oh and, my tomatoes were pretty sweet so I did add a splash of balsamic vinegar as suggested and it balanced out the flavours really well.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Fantastic! This was just what I was looking for as it called for old fashioned oats instead of quick cook! They turned out crispy at the edge and chewy in the center, absolutely perfect! (I used lard instead of shortning as it was what was in my cupboard)

Bread Pudding III

This is a great base recipe!! I used oatmeal brown bread (because that's what I had) and brown sugar (because it goes nicely with the bread) It worked out perfectly because the proportions in the recipe are perfect!

Nova Scotia Blueberry Cream Cake

This was good, I'm in Nova Scotia and had some frozen NS blueberries left over from last fall which made it even better:) The only thing was the cake bottom was a bit hard and the top a bit wet (maybe because the berries were frozen?) I think next time I would dust the frozen berries with a bit of cornstarch to help the topping firm up.
