Jalapeno Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
to those who have had trouble with the jelly setting, use 7 whole jalapeno peppers that are raw and puree them with the other peppers in the vinegar, not canned.Too much liquid. To those south of the Mason Dixon line, it is standard procedure to have it at any get together. Fantastic!

This is really an old recipe as I have making it like this for 50+ years and I also use mushrooms in it. Iuse it as the sauce for my lasagna, my baked spagetti and baked ziti. It freezes well, so makae up a large batch and freeze part of it for a future meal.

Home-Style Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
I ahve been making this soup for 50+ years and I also add what ever left over vegetables I have along with some tomatoes and okra. t is so easy and I usually make enough to freeze for a day when I don't have the time to cook or on the spare of the moment meal. I quite often make the ground beef into small meat balls instead. Add a few fresh herbs and it is to die for.

Red Hot Baked Apples

My Aunt used to make these every time I came to visit. I still make these and that has been 50+ years. An old standby, and still as good. Use Granny Smiths for holding the shape and contrast between sweet and hot.

Farm Macaroons

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
These are the best. I didn't have any almond extract so I substituted pineapple and made pina colada instead. Instead of cookies, I baked them in mini cupcake pans and took them to church and returned home with an empty cookie tin. Delish!!!
