I am a transplanted Kentuckian who still follows my traditions handed down for generations with modification. I have lived all over the United States and have had friends from many countries and have learned to cook their specialities.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking for church events and other social functions. I have been told many times I need to open a catering service.
My favorite family cooking traditions
cooking with my youngest son and his 4 year old boy who is learning to cook just lilke his father and uncle. They started learning to cook while they were still in a high chair, and both are excellent cooks.
My cooking triumphs
Taking a dessert and turning it into something a diabetic can eat, without the calories and the sugar, and still tasting like regular dessert.
My cooking tragedies
I have had only one real tradedy. I can most of my home grown vegetables and one year I planted six different types of hot peppers I made my own hot sauce with the peppers and labeled it sauce. I planned to make spagetti one night and instead of grabbing my tomatoe sauce I open a jar of hot sauce instead. I poured the whole jar into the tomatoes and you can imagine the results. We had a burn spot in the grass where I poured the sauce out.
