A Surprise-Inside French Toast

This recipe was great! I couldn't find french bread or any other thick kind, so I ended up using two slices of plain bread to contain the filling. As for the filling, I didn't spend much time mixing it so it came out pretty chunky... but that worked pretty well too. After frying them I warmed them in the oven to melt the cheeses. Topped with butter, confectioner's sugar and blackberries, and everybody loved them.

Holiday Shortbread Cookies

WOW. Before now, I thought I knew shortbread. This recipe definitely proved me wrong. These tasted amazing, and definitely beat the thin shortbread cookies that I usually make. At first I was appalled by the amount of butter, but it worked out well in the end. I too forgot to poke holes into the dough but I don't think it drastically affected the recipe at all. This one is definitely going in my recipe book!
