Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
I make this casserole every time I'm wanting comfort food. I have had it exactly as written without the croutons. Usually I make a combination of this casserole and paula deens broccoli casserole which the addition is mayo, and eggs, and ritz instead of croutons. Paula Deens is a little more decadent, I can whip this one up so quickly and throw it in the oven with anything. I also don't bother with fresh broccoli. I use chopped frozen broccoli. It's delicious.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
This is a great recipe and i usually make it about once a month at the least. Its really not to fattening, and sometimes i cut up the 97 % fat free Hebrew National hot dogs in it ( at 45 calories a piece) and its like having a very fattening, indulgent comfort meal without blowing your whole day on calories.

Pan-Roasted Chicken with Lemon-Garlic Brussels Sprouts and Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
I love this dressing. I have made this both ways with the chicken ( boneless) and without Just veggies) I liked the dressing on the chicken. it reminded me of some of the dishes at the local Greek restaurant.. my husband though prefers his chicken without the dressing, but we both agree the lemon dressing on potatoes tastes like the ones the Greek rest. serves.

Ground Beef Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
Very good basic recipe. easy to switch up to make it your own. also a good way to use up leftover veggies and hamburgers. ( especially hambugers cooked on the grill) to make it easier i will just use the frozen bag of mixed vegetables and usually instead of plain tomatoes i will use ro-tel. also great to use macaroni noodles to bulk it up a bit and make it a little heartier.

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
I love this recipe and would give it 5 stars with the exception of having trouble keeping the patties together when searing them. I may take others recipe and either broil the tops and then pour gravy over, or just not pan-sear first. also i prefer using the Lipton onion soup/ cream of mushroom soup gravy. One plus is I can buy the ingredients in bulk/family pack and make ahead lots of patties and freeze. Since its only myself and my husband it makes it easy to have a nice meal without having to prepare from scratch every time.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2014
This recipe is very easy to prepare. I chose to sub ground pork just for my preference. It makes a very nice presentation on the table, and i would serve it to company or friends in a heartbeat. It is so fresh and delicious as good or better than some of the restaurants I've eaten them at. I served it with the Ramen cabbage salad also on allrecipes. The vinegar and crunch of the ramen salad complimented the asian wraps nicely.

Southern Pimento Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2013
My husband and I have eaten Batch after Batch f this stuff. It is by far the BEST recipe for Pimento cheese. It's great in sandwiches, on Hamburgers, Quesidillas, and our favorite is with Townhouse Flipsides crackers and pepperoni slices.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2013
Pretty good if you just want quick dinner and have the ingredients on hand. I think the sour cream was a little much. Maybe half the amt. or just to taste. The consistency and taste was more to my liking before I stirred in the sour cream.

One Two Three Sausage Balls

These are always good. They are good the day you make them, the next day, even cold. Used the tip about letting the food processor do the mixing. big time/mess saver.

Rich Yogurt Waffles

A little too heavy and didn't crisp up to my preference. I decided to make these because I had yogurt on hand. I probably will not make again.

Easy Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
good basic recipe but needs adjusting to the amt. of heat/spice for your own individual taste. If you use canned beans i would recommend letting the "sauce" simmer to let the flavors marry together and add the beans last 20 min. or so to keep them from getting too soft. I prefer the taste if the tomatoes have slow simmered for a while ( at least 40 min. or more)

Tom's Blackened Seasoning

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
My husband loves Blackened chicken and he liked this seasoning blend. My complaint is the ""blackening process is a pain and smokes up the kitchen so make on a cool day or outside on the grill so you can have plenty of air circulation. It's only a special occasion dish for me.

Fluffy Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
I made these doughnuts using a doughnut pan I bought on clearance and didn't know what to do with. I had used other recipes and got a "muffin" taste every time. I went with the suggestion of the pastry chef's review and omitted the cinnamon and I used buttermilk as the liquid and melted butter instead of shortening . they tasted exactly like Doughnuts. I guarantee it's the nutmeg that you'd never expect. I will try dunking in butter and sugar next time. I used powder sugar and they were delicious. I will make these for a bake sale fundraiser at my husbands office and see how they do. One tip for a mini doughnut pan is to take a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the tip cut off one edge to pipe the batter into the rings to get them even and keep from wasting and spilling lots of batter. it makes a very pretty uniform round doughnut.

Quick Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2012
This is so easy and delicious. It has become a regular in our house. I literally only had to make it twice looking at the recipe and I knew how to do it on my own without pulling up the recipe each time. It's so flavorful and elegant enough for company. I have served with veggie rice, pasta, whipped potatoes, and on its own with asparagus or green beans. I also omit the wine and use low sodium chicken stock and unsalted butter so it doesn't overpower the capers.

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
These taste fabulous but I had a tough time getting the chocolate and almond bark smooth and thin. I even used the tip of shortening and had trouble. Maybe my bark was a cheap brand. But very good alternative to traditional cupcakes, cookies ect for bake sale. They make such an adorable looking treat. They were one of the first treats to sell out.
