Cold Day Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2007
I thought it was very good! I loved the flavor the mustard added! I had never heard of mustard in chili before. I also added some basil, oregano, & garlic. Next time I make it I will also double or maybe even triple the amount of chili powder. While it had a really great flavor, the chili was very sweet with little if any spice to it at all. Overall, it was very good, easy, and quick to make!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
These cookies were AMAZING! Crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle!! They are a big hit! Thanks for sharing this recipe! I followed it to a tee except that I left out the nuts because I was taking them to a work party and was unsure of allergies. Everyone loved them!!

Hot Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
This dip didn't have very much flavor. It was very bland. If you added more garlic and bacon it may be better. The consistency was good, but like I said...no flavor. I wouldn't make this again.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
Very easy and good, but very rich! I served over speghetti noodles and sprinkled some paprika over the top of the dish. I will make it again, but next time I would use 1/2 sour cream 1/2 mayo. The mayo taste was a little overwhelming.

Chicken Enchilada Soup III

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2008
This soup was SO good! I subbed corn meal for the other flour and I do not recommend that! Corn meal was a little too heavy and made the soup too thick. I added more water and it was doable although a little mealy. But the flavor of this soup was amazing! I added a bunch of fresh cilantro to the soup as well and I HIGHLY recommend you do the same. It was the perfect compliment to the soup and gave it such a great added flavor. This just went in the list of my favorites!!

Spicy Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
VERY YUMMY!! I don't like olives or onions, so I left those out. I added extra feta and sun dried tomatoes though. This was a big hit with the family!! Perfect for summer picnics! It's a really easy salad to throw together!!!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
This recipe is great on those hot summer days when you don't want something heavy. However, I just make it on the stove top in a bigger pan. That way it takes much less time, and the oven isn't on for so long when it is already hot outside!

Strawberry Rhubarb Cream Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
This pie was very good and easy to make!! I gave it a 4 1/2 because it had a little bit of a weird texture, but still tasted delicious! I brought it to a work picnic and everyone loved it!

This was good, but we didn't think it tasted like "restaurant style coleslaw". Was a little bit bland.

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Was good, but it definitely needed some cilantro and tomato. After I added that, this recipe was at least a 4.5, but without it, it was a little bit boring for guac.

Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
This was EXCELLENT! My boyfriend had never had squash before, so I made this and he couldn't get enough. I made it a little differently. I cooked face down in the beginning like the recipe calls for, but then melted butter all over each side & sprinkled cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hearty spoonful of brown sugar on each 1/2. then cooked "meat" side up in oven for 15 min then covered w foil and continued to cook for another 15 min. Came out perfectly!

Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
This was good, and easy, but it didn't have a lot of flavor. I added a lot including rosemary, a bay leaf, garlic, and a few other various spices to get some flavor. The veggies were good, but the celery was not cooked all the way through. This is a good base recipe, but needs modifications.

Gluehwein

This was great for a holiday party that I went to. I used OJ instead of water, and it gave it more of a warm sangria taste. Very good! I used merlot. This was easy and fast. I will make it again!
