About this Cook
I'm a Native New Yorker who's married to a wonderful man. I have a miniature Boston Terrier named Joey Joseph who is my dogchild :):) and we just recently took in a beautiful stray cat we call Whisper. Life couldn't be any more sweeter ;);)
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy baking more than I do cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making Penir with Arroz con Gandules, platanos and amarillos. Thats Pork with rice and peas, plantains and yellow bananas during the Holidays.
My cooking triumphs
My baking skills have improved. I bake cookies for the girls at work when it's their birthdays. I made Hamburger cookies that are sugar and chocolae cookies. I also made some Heartshaped cookies with sugar bells on them for my Bosses Bridal shower ( he loved it!!!)
My cooking tragedies
I screwed up on a few cakes but not all that much. I've had more triumphs than tragedies actually.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
OMG!!!! These cookies are the absolute best chocolate chip cookie I ever tasted!!! Every time I made chocolate chip cookies I would always use the same recipe. I never wanted to try a different recipe because I thought I would never find anything better. Boy was I ever wrong. I decided to try this recipe and well let's just say, this is now my go to chocolate chip cookie recipe. My husband and daughter both tried them and said it tastes just like Pillsbury dough...only better! That's all I needed to hear. I didn't make any changes except for doubling up on the recipe. I had a feeling these were going to be a hit and boy was I ever right. They're really good.

Buttercream-Coconut Cake Icing
Whoa!! I can see why this got 5 stars! This frosting is FANTASTIC! I made only one change and that was add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans instead of 1/4 cup... but that was only because I love nuts! That's it. YUMMY!!
